Putting the Clickbank police asleep...

How are some products about list building, or contain a list building section getting into Clickbank?

I remember when Clickbank announced that products daling with or that have list building sections in them cannot be sold through Clickbank.

I went through Clickbank about a month ago and saw about 10 programs that were either 100% about list building or at least had part of the product based on list building. I fired off an e-mail to the Clickbank employee that had assured me that "list building" products were not allowed in Clickbank (about a year ago), and asked her if the policy had changed, she replied "no".

So, does anyone know how these list building products are getting in or are still in Clickbank?

  • It's pretty easy.

Use a seperate copy or product entirely to get accepted.

Then the second you get accepted, just switch all links to the new product and sales copy.

Clickbank could care less, they make money either way, and they get to have the policy in place to make cushy public announcements.

Money isn't real, George. It doesn't matter. It only seems like it does.

I have heard of them checking out the product, etc.

But I don't know if they check them all out, etc.

I called them and pointed out that the TOS/AUP doesn't forbid list building and said I would stop using CB if I don't get approved. I also said they could refund my money.

    Edit: I probably got lucky.

I was under the impression that their TOS did include something about list building.

      Got their TOS handy?

Mind if I ask what is your product?

I think the reason is that they just don't enforce their rules consistently, if they even know what those are.

I recently saw a product with "listbuilding" in the domain name, so that should have been pretty obvious to them.

Never heard of this rule... My new product has a chapter on list building. Does that mean they may not accept it? Sounds like a ridiculous rule to have. Why would they do that anyway?
