Need some help on my website with traffic

Hello everyone,

I am new to the warrior forum and I have to say it is a great place to learn online marketing. I have heard and read a lot about online marketing, but I really haven't started my own website until 3 weeks ago. I have no experience with SEO, HTML or any of those things. I have followed a WSO that taught me to build authority sites, but it proved to be much more difficult than I expected. I targeted a niche that is very competitive (building muscle) because it was something I was passionate about.

I guess my main problem is I'm having trouble driving traffic into my website. I currently average around 1 visitors a day. My peak was around 14 visitors in one day. Is there anything I can do to increase traffic to my website.

Another problem I have is creating unique content everyday. I have school and work so it is really hard to find time to work on my website. Is there a way to easily write relevant content?

Thank you all for your help :]

There is no "easy" way to write good, relevant content. It is a labor of love, with the keyword being "labor".

Having picked a very competitive market, you will need to work dilligently to optimize your chosen keywords both on and off site.

With highly competitive markets, sometimes the competition is just too steep to overcome, and yo may need to optimize keywords with less competition, and sometimes that is difficult with markets that are over-leveraged.

Thank you nicoledeal. Yes I didn't realize running and hosting a website would take so much work. All the WSOs made it seem really easy so I guess I kind of assumed that it wouldn't take long for it run and make profit.

If my keyword or niche is too competitive would it be better to start a new website targeting a less competitive keyword or niche?

Depends on your budget. Domains are cheap, but your time is not. I started out a couple years ago trying to compete for " digital cameras", "women's swimwear", etc. What took me some time to figure out was that the competition for those markets was too high for me to compete with. Others may have different results. This was MY experience.

I began to read, learn, and eventually put an investment into some keyword search tools to assist with the process. For me, it was a learning process through trial and error. My failures only narrowed down my options to find success. For me success is $10 to $50 a week per site.

To answer your question based upon my experience and what i know, yes, I think you should focus on a less competitive market. Look at the search results for "muscle building" and see if your intuition tells you that you can beat them at the ranking game. If you feel confident then you need to work the crap out of it and try to make it work.

It's fun and challenging isn't it?

I guess I started with something that was way out of my league. I would like to make around making 50 dollars a week and then scale it so it will become my main source of income around 3 to 5 years after I finish school (hopefully. I know it is a bit ambitious). It looks like I do not have enough experience to know exactly what to do. Seems like to me I have to start making some mistakes before I really know what to do. Your responses gave me motivation to start looking for a new niche. Thank you very much for your advice! :]
