How to sell art photography online?

INTERNET MARKETING

A friend of mine makes unbelievable art photography in Photoshop. She would like to earn some extra money selling her pieces.
- Do you guys know of a strategy to sell them online (via her own site or selling the pics to a gallery/stockphoto/poster site?
- How to outsource productionprocess (print on paper/ send to customer)

I've got a friend doing this, although most of her work is from offline customers, she also did well selling online. Your friend could try selling on iStockphoto.com, which is a primo site, and has a lot of traffic. A few photos there can sell to a large audience. Shutterstock, BigStockPhoto, Dreamstime and Canstockphoto are also some good alternatives.

You could create an online gallery to sell, and rank it to popular search phrases such as "art photography". If it is too competitive, you could look for long-tail keywords easy to rank for. That's something I would probably do, but I'm more of a SEO guy than an artist :-)
