Any downside to Google Analytics

Could using that hurt your sites rank you think? Due to lack of traffic or whatever else? My new site, that's a week old is ranked 3/4 for keywords of a single article I wrote, I haven't don't any back linking etc...so is probably from google dancing.

    No, I doubt it can hurt your site.

    It just makes it easier to keep track of where your visitors are coming from, where they are clicking to leave your page, what keywords they are searching for to get to your page, etc.

    Only complaint I have with them, is the stats don't update in real-time. You have to wait until tomorrow to see today's stats.

    So for real-time, I use StatCounter.com - They do pretty much everything GA does but in real-time results.

    Unless you're doing things you shouldnt do, there's no reason not to use Google Analytics or WebmasterTools. WebmasterTools, itself, is very valuable and Google has been updating it to better communicate with webmasters and deal with issues.

    Analytics is also preferred when it comes to buying and selling websites.
