Newb looking for some guidance

well, hello everybody! I happen to to visit this forum quiet few times but never really took the next step and registered
(sorry if my english is not 100%, it is not my mother tongue, im working on it..)

so.. I searched the forums a lil bit and came out confused more than ever! trying to figure out the basics..
so I have a several questions which I wish you could help me with

1. how to start? yes i know it mus be the most common question but i'm truly confused! there is so much information which caused me - Information Overload, simple as that.
I was thinking about starting with Affiliate marketing, which is a big term and i'm not sure if I understand it exactly, and i'm also not familiar with the other strategies I can pick over it.

I would like to know if it's a wise choice, and what should i concentrate on within this subject, step by step (Im truly overwhelm by all the info out there and can't help to focus)

I was thinking about something has to do with sqeeze/sale pages (I honestly do not know the differences between them) and a main blogging(? or just main?) site, with the use of mailing lists

but you see, these are all nice terms, I cant add them up with each other into some sort of a plan - which is the most important part (I think)

2. niche picking/finding, I see all around everyone is saying: find a niche! pick a profitable niche first, do a research and pick a niche

so.. how? how can I establish those researches, using what tools? using what methods? on this I really have no clue

however I was thinking that maybe I should pick the "money making" niche first of all because this is what im trying to learn and know about, so might as well write about and contribute to my "to be business"

3. reresources. this forum is quite huge and I guess that most of my questions if not all of them has been answered already, and I did try to use the search funtion but without success.. If there are some usfeull threads which might be usefull for a newb like me, I would be really thankfull if you refered me to them

thats it I think, can I call it my baptism of fire? well me even asking straight out this questions is a big step to me

thanks in advance!

Hey. First, your English is just fine. Secondly, there are a lots of ways to make money online. However, I am going to focus on affiliate marketing because it's something that you seem to be kind of familiar with, and it's possibly the most popular way to make money online. Affiliate marketing is when you promote other people's products and earn a commission (certain amount of money based on the price of the product) for every sale that you make. Product owner's do this because it saves them time and money since they do have to advertise it themselves. It also adds the customer to their list so they can promote more products to them in the future. We most often will use blogs to promote affiliate products and more.

I'm not going to confuse you with a bunch of vocabulary but will tell you that finding a niche is the first step in the process of affiliate marketing and determines what kinds of products you will sell. A niche is a group of people who are having a problem and looking for a solution. The niche you choose should be something you like and something that's profitable. Here are some examples:

    make money
    dating
    weight loss
    learn Spanish
    learn guitar
    gardening
    fashion
    sports
    pet care...

There are tons of profitable niches out there. Niches like the ones listed above are popular for a couple of reasons. First, there is a lot of demand, especially with the first 3 I listed because people are always going to want to make more money, get into a relationship, or lose weight. Since there is a lot of demand in these niches, there are also a tons of products to promote. You won't ever have to worry about running out of things to sell. Oh, I forgot to mention that your niche blog will have product reviews and related articles. There's a lot you can do with them, and they are especially great for the holidays where there's lots of money to be made.

    Good luck,
    Joey

    thank you joey!
you sure did verify lots of my thoughts
but I still feel on the air, im not sure how to start and get things going
looking for some sort of blueprint which maps those thoughts into pragmatic acts
    for example:
    research for a profitable niche
creating a website(let it be blog, btw, to my understanding blog = wordpress 99% of the time?)
fill the website with reviews about the niche and put here and there affiliate link for some products

now this is in real short and im sure i have missed alot of parts
I wish it could look like a kind of business plan, so I can follow it exactly and know where i am currently and what I have to do next without jumping around or missing importants steps

    harrietfredge,
    its Moshiko(moses is the original)
I sure am open to read what other clever IM are thinking, that's why im here
but I think I have just missed your point lol sorry..

Here's wiki's definition of CPA Marketing
Cost per action - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Understanding Affiliate Marketing is not the hard part, the hard part is learning only what you actually need to know. I wasted months learning stuff that was a complete waste of time...

      Also, Know this,
      It will not be easy...
You will have to put a LOT of work in...
There WILL be a good amount of trial and error...

Aside from learning the wrong stuff, I was also fixated on the fact that it could be easy, with the right make money product which also set me back.

If you can truly convince yourself there is no push button methods to making money online your already way ahead of 90% of newbs constantly searching for another EASY method and getting nothing done.

If you really are prepared to find a plan and stick to it, you can be successful. I wish I could be of more assistance, but I'm still trying to figure it all out myself....

      Good Luck!

Great advice by all. Search this forum and you will find nearly all of the information you are looking for. Excellent tips, the experiences of other, lots of "how to's", and so on.

Beyond that... study and then do something with the information you have learned. In spite of what most newbies think, there is a lot of learning and hard work involved. Many newcomers fail simply because they never really do anything. IM isn't rocket science but nothing is going to fall into your lap either.

You are making this work at home stuff way harder than it is. Ready for some sanity? Clear your head and start over.

I would not start with Affiliate Marketing, there's too many skills that you need to learn.

I was just about to suggest CPA (Cost Per Action), In my opinion it's the easiest way for those who are new to make money.

To put it into simpler terms: You get paid for getting people to visit a page or offer and having them put in their name and email address.

This means that your job is to put together a page and to drive traffic. (tell friends/relatives about it your website)

Of course it's not as easy as I'm making it to be, but it's much easier than affiliate marketing.

Eventually you'll get much better and understand all methods of generating income and possible tie them together.

      GoodLuck.

whoa thanks! this is some cool stuff, ive never really knew it at all!
can I combine it somehow with making my own list?
i mean, I have to get traffic to some website, and even opt-in

correct me if im wrong but its "promoting" other's stuff,(ie. their website) by driving traffic, and get paid by the site owner for the ammount of traffic I brought?
so it is easier cause I dont have to get to the sales point, which is Of course alot harder
i just have to get him(site owner) potential clients

so this is always a benners method? since if I'm no longer a bigginer I could use that traffic getting / opt-in signing knowledge to my own benefits!

again, these are all assumptions I have just made, I have no clue about this kind of marketing so please correct my mistakes

also.. is there some kind of stickies in this forum? so I can gather some information about this CPA stuff.. It all seem to be very messy and hard to understand

again, I may sound banal but I am really thankfull for all that information you share with me! I have yet to see such as huge information source

Start off with the most profitable niches.

This could mean something with a high CPC for Adsense, or that has a lot of traffic due to popularity.

For instance, the weight loss niche is great because people try new ones again and again. You could go to Clickbank and choose one of those products and start a website.

Never choose a niche no one has any idea about. There will not be any traffic and you will not make any money.

Bottom line is just do something. Choose a popular niche, write an article, create a blog, post the article, monetize the blog, then submit articles to get traffic.

    OR

Create a product and sell it. The Warrior Forum has the WSO section. People have made a lot of money doing that.

    Hope that helps.

    Michael

Well, there's no such thing as a "stupid" question, so to start with, don't be afraid to ask... We all started where you are at some point in time....

If you can afford it, I would suggest you join the war room. It's $37 for a 20 year membership. The great thing in there is almost every post is someone giving a gift back to other war room members. Some (well a lot) will be over your head... but there will be newbie stuff as well.

It might actually be easier for you to learn the basics by just Googling what it is you want to learn. The internet is FULL of valuable free info. You just need to look.

Instead of asking a blanket question here... try to narrow your focus a bit. It is impossible to teach and learn everything in one post. But a tiny bite is easily digested.

    Good luck!

i've just noticed that i'm gonna have some costs at the start (without any gains)
I mean domains, hosting, and autoresponder
so since im new to this business I was thinking of joining to Chris Farrell's membership site
since he look to be a great guide! and is offering free hosting and unlimited domain names
hence i'll have to purchase only the autoresponder and pay the membership fee
my only reservations from doing so are that i'm not sure how reliable is his hosting compared to let's say.. Hostgator's hosting.
and if it's really needed to pay for that information i'll get over there, i'm sure he explain very well! but it seems that it is for the very beginners (what I don't plan to keep on beeing for long)
the point is that besides his membership site I can't seem to find any other place where I can learn from the foundations and even the advanced information

I believe you have received sound advice here, the only thing I would add, is to focus on one thing at a time. Do not try and do all of them at once. For example, you may decide to only focus on building a list to start with, by putting together a squeeze page and offering an incentive for people to join.

got it, I'll implement that advice for sure.
I think I will really join Chris Farrell's membership site because he seem so clear and will help me build the foundations
but I really not sure wether I should count on his hosting and domain names, are they reliable? or should I spend some more and buy those myself

my guess is that I could use his hosting at least to store the stuff I'll learn at the start which I don't think that will yield me money at all, but as for the later part I would like to receive some more opinions

      Hi Evishiko,

Great to hear that you are starting to make a move in learning more about internet marketing. I think the best start for you is post questions and doubts you might have here in this warrior forum. There are lots of warriors that are willing to help you and there are tons of information which you can gain.

To me, building a business is like an investment. And especially if you are online, I can understand that you would want to spend less and wanted to test things out before you actually venture into. If you are into affiliate marketing which is another business model to tap to, you would require to know the fundamentals and then do step by step. One of the main reason people who fail to make money online is due to information overload...and that's true as I encounter this challenge when I first started my online business 3 years ago.

It took me a while before I eventually overcome it. Learn and build your online business everyday. Please take note that you would need to use and manage your time efficiently and effectively when you build your own business.

      Hope it helps...

      Cheers,
      Raymond

  • When looking for a niche, try to align your interests with health, wealth or promoting a particular lifestyle. These are the largest, most responsive and therefore most profitable markets.

Use the free Google keyword tool to find the most searched for keywords in this niche (minimum of 2,ooo monthly global searches). Google the exact keyword by putting it in quotation marks to see how many results you get, which will show you how much competition there is. Ideally, you want less than 60,000 to 70,000 results. Then incorporate some of these words into your domain name, page titles, page content and ad content.

If you search for your niche on Google and you see a lot of AdWords ads on the right of the page, this is a money-making niche.

Study your competition and see what their strong points are and also the ways in which they could be serving the market but are not. There are many other ways to compete besides on price, such as excellent service, specialty products and by offering free information that your customers can benefit from.

When you serve a specialized niche you'll gain credibility as an expert. You will understand your customer's needs very well so you can offer them the products and services that they want most.

I highly recommend Chris Farrell's membership site for all of the clear cut content that is there for beginners - priceless!
