Looks like affiliate networks are reinstating CA affiliates

When that whole amazon nexus tax thing went down a few months ago I got an email from one of my affiliate networks that my account is terminated. It sucked cause I was pulling around 1K a month from it.

Today out of the blue I got an email saying that my account is now reinstated but no reasons were given. I assume it has to do with the CA tax thing.

Anyone else experienced this?

Cheers

Jan

I don't know the why/how of it...but that's awesome for those in CA.

I thought I read something about a 1-year repeal, or waiting period for it to take effect, so perhaps that has something to do with it? Just a guess...

I keep watching my email, but amazon has not welcomed me back yet.

I contacted Amazon and here is the response I received today: "As you have heard, California Governor Jerry Brown has signed legislation repealing the law that had forced us to terminate our California Associates.

We're working to relaunch the Amazon.com Associates Program in California as soon as possible. In the next few days, we'll reach out to all affected past Amazon.com Associates with information on how to re-open their accounts.

We look forward to seeing you again soon."

That's great to hear. It should have never been taken away from CA (or any other state, for that matter)! My state was on the list too, hopefully it will be withdrawn.

  • I never received a welcome back, but I did open a new affiliate account and it went through, and revenue is flowing into it!
