Mis-Use of Author Box

So I'm browsing EZA looking for dog training articles that link back to sites I can email to request link swops with and almost all of them are either simply putting their url in the author box, or plain text with no hyperlinks at all. Would this be an example of a newby mistake?

Putting no link is a newbie mistake.

Using a plain text url with hyperlinks is not.

Not everyone does article marketing for SEO purposes only.

In fact, it may be more dangerous to not include the plain text url than to include it, because some publishers don't take the HTML from EZA, but only copy the visible text on the page... Resulting in the target keywords being carried across, without the URL.

Even if the plain text url is included and it is not hyperlinked, that is a safer bet, because if someone likes your article, they can copy the url and go to your website.

I always include the plain text url in my resource boxes, even if I am also including anchor text links.
