Adding google analytics to a coded theme footer

I know this is probably a daft question to many experts here, but I am having a newbie issue.

I have found a wordpress theme I like for a blog I am running and have switched over. However the footer is coded. Now I have no problem with that as its obviously to protect the link at the bottom and I accept that as a 'price' for the theme being free

but I want to include google analytics onto the site, but as the /body code is presumably in the coded footer (not on any other pages) i have no idea how to include the google analytics code onto the theme to get it to work

any help will be greatly appreciated

thanks

You shouldn't need to insert the code by hand. Try a Google Analytics plugin that'll do it automatically.
