I think I would turn down even free Godaddy domains just because I hate their ordering process and system in general. Namecheap all the way.

Hey thanks! I just got a new domain for a client for $1. Doesn't get much cheaper than that... And yes, their ordering process is definitely annoying... But it's still a $1 domain.

  Like others have posted about their despise for GDaddy (I agree the upsell on the ordering process is so lame but hey, how many of you guys have annoying popups on your sites? Karma).
  
  I despise 1and1, they have a dollar coupon code right now (.com only) but their service sucks sooooo bad, I would pay more for my domain and not be treated like a leper from my registrar.
  
  That said, I have heard they ding your credit report if you don't pay for your domain and let it expire. Word to the wise.
