Your KW gets 720 exact local monthly searches, thats a little low IMO but It may not be bad if you can get it ranking well for multiple search terms.

The design/look of the site is somewhat bland (once again personal opinion) and the Adsense ads really stick out (I think its because of the color you have chosen and thier placement).

The health and fitness niche is very competitive but if you can get your site ranking well and continue to test it with making little changes here and there you might have a nice little money maker.

It wouldnt hurt to have your own "special fitness report" written up and offer it as either a way to build your list or sell it at a reasonable price...just food for thought.

    Good luck!

Yes...If you are setting it up to target another region then I'm not sure what your search count would be but its fairly easy to check.

Sorry...just noticed your in the UK...so for the UK it gets 880 exact monthly searches, thats better but still a little low if you are only focusing on the one KW. You can easily increase your monthly searches by targeting more KWs but Im sure you knew that already.

This would be a little extra work (but not as much as you think probably) but you could start a blog. Then you could put the feed of the blog somewhere on the website. This allows the website to constantly be updated and for you to really engage your readers. IMO, if you really want to make money from a website like this one, a blog is the way to go.

Personally I dont really pay much attention to global searches and I dont think very many do but in a niche like this one if the products you are promoting can cross boarders then it may not matter.

Most people focus on local searches and basically ignore global numbers.

If you can get 3600 local searches per month that would be a decent start. I think once you do some more digging you will see that niche is very competitive and trying to rank for ht ehigher search count terms will be difficult - not impossible - but difficult.

You're on page one of Google, so that's good. But as Rsberg said, you don't have many monthly searches locally. Of the 720 searches, even if you're number 1 in Google, you may only get a maximum of 50% CTR. That's 10 visits a day. A good Ad CTR would be 1% to 2%, so each day it is extremely unlikely that anyone would click.

Honestly, given this analysis, I'd say no, it's not profitable. Perhaps expect a couple of dollars here and there each month.

Also, as Rsberg said, you've got to monetize it other ways than Adsense otherwise you just won't make anything worthwhile.

Seems that you are doing the right things. I did a search on Google for "health related fitness" and Google listed your site on page one... At the bottom, but still page one which for a new site is pretty good.

I agree with "Rsberg" about your ads sticking out. When I checked, there was an image ad showing. I would test text only and text/image to see which one performs better.

Your ad block is currently 250x250... I would also test the large block 336x280 which usually performs better.

    I hope that this helps.

That's where split testing comes in. Basically you try different ad colors, different ad positions, etc. You track everything and see what goes best with your website. Then you work on that.

    Hello,

Let me clear something up here about the searches a month. I hear many sides to this story about making money and the searches.

First off, I make many sniper sites based on keywords that have only 3000 searches a month and have awesome success. What matters here is if the keywords or keyphrases are buyer keywords. Such as "how to's" or " so and so review" etc. And how targeted they are.

Basically, you always want to find keywords that are targeted to what your website is about. This will ensure conversion if you have everything else right if it's a buyer keyword.

I looked at your website and I see you are trying to make money. That isn't a good thing. I can understand this becasue we started the same way. We actually built a site just for making money. But noticed that it didn't work. Then we learned the concept of making a site that actually helped people and showed value.

Website viewers know when someone is trying to sell them. So when they see all those ads, they know that you are trying to sell them something or make money instead of really helping them. No matter what your intent is, that is what is giving off on your site. So its a simple fix. Focus on great content and don't worry about sales until your site starts to get a lot of traffic. I see a counter on the side bar that says 71. I am guessing thats a visitor counter? Anyway, take it off. Thats your personal knowledge and no one elses.

Also, Your website is to broad. Find a micro niche at first and target them only. For example, health related fitness for beginners, men, women, youth and so on. Its to broad right now when you are beginning.

Also, I would personalize it more. Maybe change the header and create a custom one. If you don't know how to make a header, fiverr.com can help you and they will make you a header for 5 dollars. I use them all the time.

Take a look at one of my sites, dietplanforlosingweight.com. You will see what I mean by custom.

Also, you don't have a optin from to collect emails. The Number one goal you will have is to collect emails. This will make you a ton of money in the future when you get a big list of people.

If you need any other help, I created a website to help newbies out at online-money-today.com. We just created it and are still in the process of loading a lot of content up but we have had great reviews so far!

I really hope this helps. Keep working hard and perfecting your craft and having fun. Money will come but you just have to keep improving. Good job though for starting this and getting a site up. Its hard I know lol.

    Have a great day!

    Cheers,
