MODS PLEASE READ and Members Vote For this warrior forum feature

It would be great to have an i trader system for the warriors that offer link building/ SEO services or WSOs in the Warriors for hire section/complete websites for sale and WSO section etc.

It would allow buyers to leave positive/negative feedback with sellers they had a good experience with or bad and allow quality providers to show thier reputation for providing good services/products.

If you have a bad experience, let people know. You are not doing anyone a favor by hiding your experience. Whenever someone submits a negative feedback all the mods would be notified. This would allow others to avoid being scammed. And would act as an incentive for sellers and WSO creators to produce quality services and products. Giving members here a better experience with the forum.

Sellers have the opportunity to show a history of providing a good service experience and increasing their sales for free.

Buyers have the opportunity to create a safer buying experience for themselves and let other buyers know if the person they purchased goods and services from is a legit source or a scammer.

You've been here almost 2 years and haven't seen the numerous discussions about this?

Not going to happen, for a number of reasons.

This has been decided long ago and voting on something that none of us have any say in will not change that.

        That too.... :p

I was thinking that if the OP wanted iTrader, he should go to one of those forums where iTrader is already an accepted practice.

Of course, most of those places suck, but they do closely resemble the OP's idea...

Why not just read previous reviews for the person?

The moderators have read this same suggestion many, many times. It has been rejected for the same two reasons every time.

First, it's too easy to game the system, and there are plenty of people in the WSO section who'd do it. Some for profit, some for spite, and some just for fun.

Second, there's no way to make sure it was available only to buyers without the forum handling every sale in some way. That's not going to happen any time soon. Not that I'm aware of, at any rate.

We encourage people to post reviews of products they've purchased. That works just fine, as long as people use a little common sense and don't bet money they can't afford to lose.

Now, just for the record: We listen to suggestions from members. We've implemented several over the past couple of weeks. However, we don't "take votes." The only person here with a vote that counts for this sort of thing is Allen. He's the guy that owns the joint.

Ok as a suggestion or question would it be possible for you to put in place barriers to prevent people from doing that? with regards to your first point or problem. A Simple solution would be to ban anyone doing those sort of actions as you say would act as an incentive not to do it. Would be fairly easy to spot anyone gaming the system as you say.

With regards to your second point it does not have to be exclusively for buyers and you would not need to handle every single sale. It's just there for people to use if they would like to point out an experience they had with a seller. Just as an option. Only a neg i trader would need to be looked into by a mod.

And for my record I was not implying that you or Allen were not taking suggestions from members here. And did not have the intention of using a poll to imply pressure to you or Allen.

It's a mods Job to to provide a better user experience not matter how hard it is to do that job or how much time it takes to do it. When did it become okay to complain about hard work and good work ethic?

Honestly iTrader was a good thing on the guitar forums i was on because they traded physical things and its harder when someone steals a guitar(to some like a child). But thats because they were smaller sites where people didnt already have reviews like they do here on WF. WF is huge. WF created their own sense of what they do. iTrader isnt a good thing for people who are making their first transaction without any positives or negatives going for them.

The suggestions are good, but we have to look from both sides.

Sellers point of view: They don't mind negative comments but those should be constructive or suggestive.

Buyers point of view: When they pay for a product, they expect it to deliver what is promised on the sales page.

I think the best solution is to inform Mods here if there is a comment which is written in bad taste. It would be obvious to everyone if there is only one or two such negative comments while there are many good reviews. I am sure Mods will delete that comment.

Yes...what everybody else said. It ain't gonna happen.

However, I also wanted to make note of how loaded the poll question is. (Good job!)

    A. Yes good idea Mods get on it now!
    B. no I am not sure

Okay, so A says it IS a good idea and B says it COULD be a good idea. You forgot...

    C. No, this is a bad idea!

You also loaded it in your favor by telling people to "Vote For this warrior forum feature". It's actually pretty funny just how poorly designed this poll is. But that couldbe a good thing, I'm sure there are plenty of places that are looking for that kind of "talent".

As long as we're on the subject of making changes to the forum, here are some more ideas to vote on:

        1. Randomly change one member's picture to "Bobo the Clown" each day. Or maybe not so randomly.

        2. Each morning at 12:01am EST we award one member with "WF Member of the Day" (WFMOTD). Every thread they start must have [WFMOTD] in the subject line.

        3. New feature: We MUST put our yearly incomes in our signature files. Doing so will cut down on all the "how much money do you make?" threads.

        4. We MUST put one money-making idea in our signature files (no links -- just the idea). This will cut down on all the "help me, I need money yesterday" threads.

        5. Ten times a day an audio automagically starts that says, "Put your dang threads in the right forum, please." Then maybe a Blue Light Special follows each announcement.

        Don't forget to vote.

It would need to be done randomly....

Otherwise, a few well-known clowns will be picked so often that they will start to think that they are "Bobo the Clown", and the real Bobo will be offended at the comparison.

This forum usually has 9,000+ users on it at one time with 299,014 threads and counting, 3,860,222 posts and counting, and 364,621 members and counting.

The mods are volunteers as in they're not paid so I think you're way out of line to question their work ethic and the hard work they put in to prevent this place turning into a zoo.

And the "no I am not sure"'s have it!

Funny how the OP made the "no" conditional and less of a clear "no," ha ha.

And it's 23-3 on the no side, right now. So, even if this were a democracy, I think that's a pretty clear message about what this forum thinks about this idea.

Now somebody please go game the poll so "yes" wins and we can prove once and for all it's a bad idea!

          Yep, sure would...

But those who value their membership here wouldn't even think about it.

That's the point with the itrader thing, those who don't value their membership would be the people to game such a system.

I think the forum does fine without it, but that's just me. This isn't any other forum, this is Warrior Forum. Let's just let this place be Warrior Forum and if you can't buy comfortably here without itrader, then go to one of those forums that uses it.

It's a mods Job to to provide a better user experience not matter how hard it is to do that job or how much time it takes to do it.

Just voted No, but a tad confused as to why it is phrased as "no I am not sure"

I AM sure that my vote is NO.

Yep. That's why I refused to vote and called the OP on the gross bias of his poll. However, it's nice to see that so many people understand why it's not a good idea.

As other have pointed out, Mods here are strictly volunteers (and all members share in the responsibilities). I don't think anyone would call the mods lazy or say they have poor work ethic if they didn't wish to double the workload they are not being paid for. Not only would it cost them time, but it would also cost them money in that it leaves less time for them to work on their own businesses.

I make the polls the way I want them if you don't like it don't waste my time or yours with such responses.

        Heat,

No matter how you look at it, you posted a "crooked" poll. Even if you got 99% of the warrior forum to say "no I am not sure" , you could turn around and say "99% of the warrior forum is unsure and willing to consider it"

It is pointless to post a poll where you can only really answer in one way. I have also refrained from voting for this reason.

I think I can name a few other forums with I-trader points that have become a Zoo.

      Please don't.

As long as I am a moderator here, we will not engage in bashing other forums. They each fit some group's needs. The more of them that are out there, the better the chance for each individual to find a place where they can feel comfortable and learn.

We have our ways. They have theirs.
