Outsourcing Article Marketing/Traffic Generation

Hello fellow warriors,

I'm in need of some guidance in outsourcing of article writing/traffic generation for my CPA site.

In the past I've outsourced some articles but I think they were higher competition keywords and after submitting them to ezinearticles.com I only got some traffic initially when it was on the featured articles page. After that I only got the odd visit here and there but nothing consistent so I actually lost some money. I also experimented with several of the articles by outsourcing link generation and I got a packet of 20 PR 1 social bookmarks for each of the several articles that I picked.

Based on this experience do you think it's a good idea that I look for some long-tail keywords using market samurai or similar software and only after finding some low competition keywords sumit those keywords to my outsourcers to write some articles. After submitting the articles what would be a good number of links, types of links and their PR to improve search engine as well as ezinearticles.com rankings? Would you recommend EDU links?

I was able to find some providers on odesk that would charge me $5-$6 for a unique 500 word article on the keyword of my choice. What would be a good amount to spend on links to those articles to ensure higher article rankings that would improve ROI for my CPA site?

Any suggestions for outsourcing press releases or other traffic generation techniques?

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. So far I've been either break or lost some money on different traffic generation techniques.

      Mark,

I think he's in the right section. He's asking about outsourcing more than anything else. The keyword question is incidental, don't you think?

      OP,

You are getting exactly the result you can expect from EZA, I'm afraid. Even if the article ranked on EZA, you lose a good chunk of the visitors to the other ads on the page.

You'd get a much better ROI if you created your own blog(s) to funnel traffic through.

Yeah I would look at some longer tail keywords and keep your options open. - Target some low competition and some high, so that you are gaining page 1 ranking on a consistently stronger basis.

This will multiply traffic and conversions. (Pick BUYER KEYWORDS).

Also, why just outsource article marketing?? These days you need a smorgusboard of different backlinking methods to compete in higher level competition.

I just took a look at your site. All of your content, which seems decent with a quick skim, was all posted at once in April, 2010. Start adding content there on a regular basis. Ping each post and perhaps social bookmark them, etc.

With this competitive of a niche, you are certainly going to have to step up your game and find some keywords that you could rank for but even then, it's likely to take time.

Stop trying to post articles to rank at EZA - get your own site ranking instead. Then you can take those articles, after they are indexed on your own site, and try posting them to article directories. They may get you a trickle of direct traffic and a backlink.

    • Thanks for your reply dadamson. Can you give me an example of the types of links that I should use for my articles? For instance, should I have a mix of social bookmarks, edu, forum posting? What about the specific PR of each link? Should I focus on PR3 or higher?
