Why 80% Of My Aweber Confirmation Emails Bounced... And How I Fixed It

Hi guys,

You know when you have a "double optin" list with Aweber, they send out that email that asks you to confirm your subscription?

For god's sake, don't put a URL (even a partial one like mywebsite.com) in the "from" part.

I did that and couldn't figure out why all my emails were bouncing. Had a chat to the Aweber guys and they straightened it out for me.

Just thought this might be helpful for some of you.

  • Thank you. This is helpful since I'm currently gearing up for my first campaign using AWeber.

  • Thanks for the solution but I still don't get why they were bouncing?

I'm assuming some email host consider .com in the from field as spam?

  • Okay, what am I missing? I'm not a newbie, but I'm looking at the Verified Opt-In/Confirmed Opt-in form and I don't see any "from" field. If you're not talking about the verified opt-in form, what part are you talking about, exactly?

  • Hmm... it's still not making any sense to me. By definition, a "from" field in an e-mail will contain a domain name. From = somename@example.com. The OP is saying not to put a domain name in the "from" field... Perhaps it's the wording that's confusing?

Daniel, could you please clarify on which page you're setting this?

    Thanks,

    Suzanne
