Proud of myself - Already turned a profit on my first .com domain

I started it only 4 weeks ago, and didn't expect any big stuff to come at any recent point (I'm always checking to see if new authors have signed up, and as expected, it's still slow. Less than one new author every 2 days at this point). However, it's now earned me just over 70 dollars in the past 4 weeks, just under 60 in the past 2 weeks, and just under 40 dollars in the past ONE week. So even in the past week alone I've made back my initial investment (which was only enough to buy the domain name and 1 month of hosting), but a week from today I'll be over the $100 dollar mark total, enough to have paid for my hosting for the rest of the year.

I didn't expect such fast revenue growth from my site. It's still just one cog in my Adsense reportoire, but it's already sending my monthly income, which plummeted after my daughter was born (I quit writing articles for awhile at this point - life was busy enough between my daughter and my full time career) and my Hubpage articles were Panda-slapped, back up to where it used to be.

Tips that I have learned from this whole thing.

1: Social marketing is legit. +1s, retweets, facebook likes, stumbles, diggs and buzzes all work for bringing in traffic, even if it's just one.

2: Section targeting is of utmost importance. My income SKYROCKETED after I told the bots to ignore the header, sidebars and footer. My tag cloud gave the bots a small army of irrelevant keywords, but once I section targeted the content, it went up.

3: Put your ads in with the content. Sidebar ads never worked for me. They might work for you, but they just downright didn't for me.

4: Just go for it. If you have an idea in your head, and you don't know whether to pull the trigger, pull it. If you have doubts, prove yourself wrong. Do it smart and do it hard.

Thanks for reading.

I don't remember the exact code, but google "Adsense Section Targeting" and the first result will be an official Google Adsense blog page with instructions on how to implement it.
