Warriors..

I have some less competitive keyword rich domain names and wanna know what's the best thing I could do with them..

1.Develop a Clickbank product and market it using the root domain as the sales page

Advantages:
*Good for getting affiliate sales & JVs

Disadvantages:
*Less search Engines rankings as there's not much content(sales page, affilate page,TOS etc)

*Not good for list building as less affiliates prefer to promote products with squeeze pages.

2.Develop a niche blog using wordpress with good content and monitize it with adsense and affiliate banners..

Advantages:
*can build a list easily using plugins such as Popup domination

*can rank without much hassle as there is good content(700+ words) & multiple pages(20+ Articles)& update regularly(5+ Articles a month)

What's the best option when considering long term business?
& Need ideas on related good business models.

your thoughts...???
Thanks a lot.

What about using the root as a sales page anyway, and then put a blog on a directory like yourdomain.com/blog/

That way you can promote both ways

yes ..I already thought about this ,,but yourdomain.com/blog is difficult to rank than a blog in root domain..

Is there any possibility to create sales page as main page and run a blog itself in the root domain ,using a theme like profits theme or optimize press..?

    Does anybody know about this?

I think your root site should be the term for your niche, or result, or business...

      sitename.com/productname

That way, if you add more products down the road, you can

      sitename.com/upsellproduct

      Further, you're not stuck with

      productname.com by itself.

...or your home domain is the base product... sort of like Double Your Dating... and product #1 is the "ebook."

    I'd go for number 2.

Just be sure to affiliate product names as you will get far higher
    conversions.

Can always try both and see what happens! Then scale up the model which is proving to be more profitable!

To me, the words "site" and "blog", in this context, are almost interchangeable. One can make all sorts of static sites using blogging software, these days, and all sorts of frequently updated sites (i.e. "like blogs") using other software and content management systems, so I can't see much real distinction between the two, for these purposes.

For my own business, I strongly prefer niche sites/blogs to product sites/blogs.

To me, a big part of the attraction of being an affiliate, rather than a vendor, is the facility to build up an asset-based business without being tied to the longevity, survival and flourishing of any specific, individual products at all: I like the extra security and flexibility that comes from being able to add/remove/switch the products I'm promoting, if ever it becomes necessary or advisable, and to keep growing my sites/blogs that way.

It wouldn't really suit me nearly as much to have "product sites/blogs" at all: I'd be a bit stuck if anything "happened" to the product, and suddenly part of my business's underlying assets would drop in value/use.
