Wear Sunglasses - Double Your Money

I had a friend who had a television show on public access. He tested it out. When he wore sunglasses his ratings doubled and sometimes tripled.

How does this apply to you?

Wear shades in your Youtube videos. Your videos will get double the views=double the clicks=double the sales (ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL!!!)

Well George Clinton puts his sunglasses on to feel cool.... maybe same affect.

Personally if he's indoor it's a douchebag thing to do but maybe it's the Howard Stern type deal, he boosted viewers by people hating him... thinking he's a douche & people subconsciously thought he was cool...

OTOH it could have been the Big Daddy affect & he felt more like invisible so he could have said more of what he really wanted & people give more respect to real talk than fluff PC crap.

If you keep your eyes open you'll realize that a lot of people on youtube have already figured this out.

Check out this marketer using it to great effect.

I found him about a year ago on Youtube for eBay selling. Then seen him on the forum here like 2 or so weeks ago. He has a ton of personality! Love him.

Good Benny Hill moment 30 seconds in to the video!

In all seriousness though, this does sound interesting but I think you could only do a few videos wearing sunglasses throughout. To adopt Loren's way of thinking, if you use this technique on too many videos, it may indeed seem like you are trying to conceal something - unless of course you actually sell sunglasses!

Then I think it would be totally justified to wear them all the time!

PS - (This probably only applies to UK Warriors) - Did the start of that video remind you guys of "Bullseye" when Bully used to shout "iiiinnnn one!?

      Maybe it's just me!

Wow, obviously the cool/mystery factor kicking in there. I used to wear sunglasses on cloudy days in the car to relax my eyes. It made me seem like a cross between Roy Orbison and some lunatic that hadn't been told the weather had taken a turn for the worse.

I've seen guys make videos where they wear sunglasses
to conceal their eyes... because they are reading off
a computer screen. It's highly non-credible and lame,
IMO. Maybe some dudes think it's cool but I would never
buy anything from a salesman who won't show me his
    eyes.

Hmmm...you have a good point there. You want to see their eyes.

But I wonder if you might be making the mistake of thinking that your customers think like you...

Good point, Mike. Depending on the target market, some cool shades might establish a connection or impart credibility.

How about females changing their uniform on the videos they star in, which will certainly gain more views , hehe.

If you want to build credibility, let them see your eyes. If you are trying to be Joe Cool, and getting them to your myspace page, go with the sunglasses. Different approaches to different markets. Testing is the key.
