Etiquette for first product launch

Hi folks

I expect to be launching my first product (or suite of products) within the next few days which will be swiftly followed by my first WSO. The WSO will be a great deal on the package of products that I am launching in the real world. So far so good. I am sure that the launch will be well supported by Warriors, if it is felt to be be good content and good value.

So here's my questions to do with etiquette ...

  • As it is my first product, I think it would also be helpful to get feedback on my sales page. Where should I ask for that within this forum? I can't find a natural place ... maybe the copywriting forum?
  • How do I make it clear that a request for a review of my salesletter, is not a backdoor way of trying to promote my product?
    • Should I just make it clear that I will be offering the product as part of a WSO very soon (within days)? Would that suffice?
  • Also, (not so much about etiquete), how do you split test a sales page?
  • Whilst I am happy for Warriors to become affiliates (if they like my product and think it will sell), I understand that it is bad form to ask. So how do I go about making it known that affiliate opportunities are available if wanted, for the full priced products?
    • The sales pages for the full priced products will have links on for people to register as affiliates, but that wouldn't filter through to the WSO. And it's not going to be a clickbank product.
    • The Affiliate database link just brings up an error message so I can't explore whether that is an option.
Thanks folks.
Kate

    1) I would think the copywriting forum would be appropriate.

    2) Just remove the buy now button during the feedback period if it worries you that much.

    3) Google Website Optimizer is free and not a bad choice for beginners who want to get their feet wet with split testing. However, split testing your WSO sales page is not possible, at least to my knowledge (that would be awesome, though, especially if you could split test the title of the post)

    4) I've seen many people put a link to their affiliate program information at the bottom of the WSO... if you don't like that then make sure it's in your product so customers can promote it.

PMing / asking people to promote your product is a great idea if you do it right. To avoid annoying people and get the best response make each PM personal and only contact relevant marketers (people promoting things along the lines of your offer),

"Hey, I saw/bought your WSO/Product on X, which is right on track with my offer here: link ... I think this would convert very well for your list given both our products compliment each other. Here's a free copy: link

I notice your offer is exclusive to the WF. Perhaps we can combine forces and put a front end and upsell together with our products after my WSO runs and do a ClickBank launch or package this up as a $497 webinar product."

That's just an example depending on what you're comfortable with. I do a lot of JVs and my close rate is quite high because I take the time to check out their products, posts, blog, etc. - that's the key. No one does this (very few at least) and it works extremely well because you stand out from the garbage (promote my product please) PMs/emails they delete on a regular basis. 101 "if they believe you have their best interests at heart, it's over..." sales!

Hi, I'm glad you are launching a product, I hope it is a big success

I wouldn't ask publicly for feedback on my sales page, what I would do is sign up for the WarriorPlus affiliate program (its only $3.99/month). Once you are signed up for that program, you can see the stats of all the WSO's that use WSO Pro (which is like all of them). Look at the WSO's that are doing well, and use their sales pages as a template for yours. Also, if you want, I suggest you PM the thread owners asking if they could take a look at your sales page.

As far as split testing, I don't think theres a way to do that for WSO's. If it were a normal website you were selling it off, you would install a script that would change the sales page every other visitor, and then show you which one converts best.

As far as affiliates, just include a little link below your "buy" button saying that affiliates can promote your product and the commissions that you are offering.

    I hope that helps,

    Thanks,

    Matt

Awesome replies form both of you, thank you so much.

Matt, I will be selling off a proper website too (the WSO will launch after the main website, so that people can see that his is a real product, not just something created for a quick buck on a WSO). I had no idea that it was possible to run a script to change the page for new visitors ... so that's how split testing works! Where do I find one of these scripts? My sales pages are built with OptimizePress.

Such great advice. This forum is such an amazing place.

      Thankyou.
