Noticed this new feature of at Fiverr (how couldn't you! seems they are really pushing it)
What are your thoughts on this new feature? How do I get my gig listed as express? I updated my gig to a complete time of 1 day but that didn't seem to do it.

There are a few things you have to have to make the express gig status. You need to have positive feedback of 95% or more, have had at least 2 sales and an overall rating of 90% as well as a lead time of less than a day. Check it out at the fiver blog

It says right on the site Fiverr Blog...

Gigs with lead times under 24 hours, 2 or more sales and positive feedback of 95% or more will be automatically included in Express Gigs. Additionally, sellers will also be required to have an overall rating of 90% or over - so keep getting those positives :-)

Yes I did notice it yesterday, didn't really know how to get my gig in it. Thanks for sharing it, that's helpful!

Fiverr contacted me earlier today to notify me that one of my gigs was listed in their new express 24 hour gigs and then I went to check my fiverr sales and I made 3 sales from my express gig, so I say this new feature is great!

Just thought I would share my results.

    All the best,

    Martin

My gigs on Fiverr used to be 1 day or less but since I got more orders, I had to change it to a delviery time of 2 days, just to give myself enough time to complete all the orders and fit them into my schedule!

Loving this Express Gigs feature though, great for all those people that go onto Fiverr needing something urgently!

    • You can't really have a lead time under 24 hours since the shortest gig duration you can set is 1 day.

I'm not sure Fiverr proofreads their stuff. :-)

It may be that they are basing it on your history of response time/delivery time. Most of my gigs are set to 2 or more days, but I deliver nearly everything within hours. (have to keep off time in mind) They made me as eligible for the program.

They are, and that can be a problem, because then they shorten your expected delivery time.

What if you knock out a bunch of Fiverr gigs at once because you're bored, there's nothing on the tube and your wife is off visiting her mother? Your turnaround time is shortened automatically. But there may be other times when you can't even be near a computer. (December 24/25 come to mind for many people.) With Express Gigs, the buyer gets a countdown clock to watch which tells him precisely when he can cancel the gig if it hasn't been delivered.

Once he cancels, your feedback rating is reduced.

I think Gig Express is an excellent idea for certain types of gigs. Any gig that is a file delivery or based on using a software will benefit greatly from this. Hopefully buyers will not expect content writers, backlinkers, and graphic designers to offer express gigs except maybe as a promotion.

fLufF - Wouldn't that only be for gigs that are set to one day delivery? Or are they cramming longer stated delivery gigs into express if they have an average actual delivery under 24 hours. That would be a real problem, as I have times up to 2 days at a shot where I am nowhere near a computer on a regular basis.

Ain't no way I'm gonna be delivering Fiverr gigs from my phone on a camping trip.

      • Yeah, I don't know the answer to your question. But I'm starting to think the good folks at Fiverr are overreaching here. The countdown clock is a bit much.

In my travels around FiverrLand, I see a common pattern: A user starts out strong selling and completes a number of orders, garnering great feedback. Then they get slammed with orders and can't keep up (or real life intrudes). Cancellations follow, their feedback percentage plummets and they give up or simply disappear.

There's a real cost to recruiting both buyers and sellers. I think Fiverr should be considering some means of retaining sellers, not ways to put more pressure on them and potentially set them up for failure.

This is a good point. I can see the "express" thing messing up a lot of sellers' feedback. They may get more business at first but the risk of missing the 24-hr deadline is pretty high.

A lot of buyers are unreasonable already, and now they are going to expect sellers to jump through even more hoops for less than 4 lousy bucks.

I got all my gigs listed on express status. So far I enjoy deliver my work under 24 hours but if I think I have too much order I'll consider to contact support to remove that status :-)

            It's beginning.

I ordered an Express Gig on Wednesday. The seller is now 24 hours late. The countdown clock has converted into a Cancel Gig button. But when I push it, I get a "This gig can't be canceled" message. Interesting.

A few minutes later, I get a message from the seller apologizing for the delay and promising to send the deliverable along shortly.

So the Cancel Gig button doesn't really cancel the gig, it just pokes the seller.

I love the new FIVerr express. This is going to be the big one. Tired of waiting two weeks to have a person complete a gig. Also, some people wait until the last minute to rush you. What would be great is if we could add a new WF express. This would be super.

I encountered the exact situation that 'fluffythewondercat' described in her first post. Was happy to see my Express Gig dragging customers who needed my writing service... however than I got wrecked and couldn't take the pressure after 2 days. I took some time to get rest of staring at my monitor and trying to deliver all the content within 24 hours. When I got back to it in few hours I already received 2 negative reviews :L Took me some good time to fix it up at something trustful...

Express Gig seems to be a good stuff but they should modify it a bit in order to backup sellers... I mean we're not slaves...
