I have this persistence worry about building mailing list,as a newbie in the business of online marketing i am confused. I have come across thousands of sites that promised of helping one to build a mailing list that will be responsive at a faster rate, they promises everything but i have not taken any of them serious.

I want to ask my wonderful warrior members to please tell me the best way to go about it. I have been hearing of renting a list and building a mailing list of the two i know that there is always a better and easier way of going through all these.
So i am waiting to receive loads of your answers to this post.
Thank you and God bless you all.

I suggest creating a small report or course that you can offer for free and offering it via a squeeze page.

    1. Create a small product to offer for free.
    2. Create a squeeze page which will capture names and e-mail addresses in return for your free product.
    3. Drive traffic to your squeeze page and build your list!

There are lots of ways to drive traffic to your squeeze page. Just do some basic research on driving traffic to your website.

I would recommend starting out with article marketing, it's free and highly effective!

once you get your site up, first thing i would do is add it to your sig file in every forum you are active in...

there are tons of ways to get traffic. just depends on if you want paid or free.

i would pick a couple that you want to try, and stick with it. here are some diff methods.

articles, forums, press releases, JVs, PPC, CPAs, videos, and the list goes on on on

good luck with everything. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

You should create some information of value to the niche you are targeting (downloaded document, autoresponder mini course tutorial video or super pre launch discount for people who join your list) and then promote your offer.

If you're unknown, it takes a lot of effort do promote via article marketing methods. I would recommend posting on video sites like youtube using the keywords in your title and description with a link in the (more info) tab to your opt in page. To make the link active, make sure you add the http colon forward slash slash at the start of your web address or the link won't become active.

Use video upload sites like heyspread.com. You upload your video to heyspread once and they automatically distribute it to numerous video sites. This saves you a lot of time.

The fastest and in my opinion the easiest way to build a huge ist is to run your own Giveaway Event. My current one the New Year Giveaway will result in about 15,000 new subscribers in one month for me. But to reach these numbers you need to know a lot about this industry and have the right people to partner up with. But still, most people get between 1000 and 5000 subscribers from their first event that they host.

Another method is to use ppc and get a positive Return Of Investment so that you can constantly increase your advertising budget and therefore get more and more visitors to your site. But you really need to know what you are doing, otherwise you will lose a lot of money.

Whatever you decide to do... important is that you get started and that you track your advertising, so that you can tell what really works and what does not work.

Twitter and Facebook have proven to be powerful places in which you can generate high quality traffic to your squeeze page, just make sure you are targetting the right people (in Facebook, join groups which are related to the product/service you sell and on Twitter, find and follow the people who follow someone who sells a similar product/service as you)

You can have a well converting squeeze page and the best autoresponder in the world but if you haven't setup at least 12 - 15 messages within your follow-up sequence, you'll be missing out on the majority of sales. So many people have <7 follow-up messages on file within their autoresponder... industry statistics report that it takes at least 7 "touches" (eg. points of contact) in order to build a strong enough relationship between yourself and your prospects in order to convert them into a customer. I suggest creating 60 follow-up messages within your autoresponder, spread out over the course of 2 years... maybe send them 3 messages during the first week following their subscription, 2 messages the second week then 1 message every two weeks thereafter for at least two years.

Keep each follow-up message short (2 - 3 paragraphs) with only 1 action step and you should experience a healthy conversion rate of prospects-to-customers.

Let me know if I can help you in any way.
