Blogger earns $54,000 a DAY

Hey gang..

Just read a wired article about a guy who makes
$54k/day drawing d**ks on people's faces..

Now ofcourse that's not all he does. But most
people love him for that!

You probably heard of Perez Hilton. Love him or
hate him (most hate him) - he's making a killing
doing what he loves most.

What's interesting is - how the celebs he makes
fun of - love him! And how the very people who
hate him, read his blog daily!

Kind of like the howard stern phenomena??

There are many "viral marketing" experts out there but
here's a guy who's been there done that.

His blog is a live case study of what works. Notice how
he stirs your curiosity to see the forbidden with negative commands
like "If You Are Easily Offended - then do not CLICK HERE!"

And how he gets attention by being controversial, real,
and using wordplay to make boring stories seem like
alarming scandals.

He's already got a vh1 tv show, a clothing line and will
have his own record label within the next year.

Something to learn about from someone, who at the end
of the day, is a....... blogger.

Waddya think?

Shariq.

This kind of fake and nonsense article should not be posted over and over again... worthless...

Why is it fake? The guy has a point... Perez Hilton has done a great job at capturing the general public audience... something we should all be aiming at. Targetting the IM world is no the be all and end all of IM... in fact, most people make a killing targetting the general public as they are easily manipulated (in a positive way).

He also have tons of multi-million dollar lawsuits hanging over him. I would rather not have this sort of stress.

There should be a limit to what you can use to attract the masses.
What he does is unethical and the end doesn't justify the means.
If you have some ethical ways to reach the same then go for it but such a man is in no scale an example to follow.

While he had made some quick money he is gunna have a lot of issues in the future. Moreover, the figures he posts are unlikely to be fully correct especially when they are off set against his law suit expenses.

Shariq, I learned something from him today.
Controversy play a big and important part in viral marketing.
I think it is a nice one. =)

With all those lawsuits, his earnings will take a plunge pretty fast.

I would rather do something that is generally accepted by the public and get positive press. That is just disgusting.

Okay. Let's move on to something else. Please!

Guys... why do you care about his legal issues?

Perez Hilton, from a marketing standpoint, should be seen as somewhat of a genius.

He's more well know and popular than everyone in this entire forum.

And, if he's really making $54,000 a day. Just tip your hat off to him.

Instead of being concerned with his legal issues, let's focus on things that can be learned from him.

Also, keep in mind that law suits come with the territory. Hell... a law suit for someone like him can boost his popularity and income.

                    Peace...

I don't think this is a fake post at all. ??? Very confused by your perceptions solidsnake but you are definitely entitled to your opinion.

I think we could all have a takeaway from this story ... controversy is good. It brings in readers. Not all controversy needs to lead to a lawsuit - it can be smaller. Pumping our blogs and sites with timely, newsworthy content where we express our real opinions makes us real to our readers which will make them come back.

Thought provoking thread. Thank you for sharing!

Agreed. We may learn something positive from him possibly.

If that was the case he would stop blogging, outsource it, invest in something better and be on the news talking about how hes a billionaire by investing

                          $1.5 million a month...I wish.

I don't know...his site does get a huge amount of traffic. If it's not 1.5 million a month, at least a couple million per year is what I would expect.

I read his site two or three times a week to see what's going on in the world of celebrity. Just a guilty pleasure, like espresso. I know it's not good for me, but I love it.

I don't particularly like the images of winkies and what not that he sketches on some of the photos, but there's still a lot to learn from this guy.

He's become a celebrity through his blog. How cool is that?

Every once in a while, the whole background of his site will be transformed from its usual hot pink into whatever is going on. Like the other day, the background was all about "Gossip Girl," with images of the stars of the TV show.

He's gotta be pulling in some serious money when he switches from the pink background to a big ad.

I'm one of those who hate him. I don't read his blog. I would never go to his site. Long ago I would click on a story headline and end up on his blog and I don't understand why he has to draw pictures of you know what on everyones face. His blog wouldn't be so bad if he didn't have to draw all kinds of body parts and body fluids on everyones face. I guess I just don't get it. Maybe I'm not perverted enough.

I don't care how much money he makes, he's not worth an ounce of respect. I would never want to be in his place or aspire to be like him. Moneys not everything.
