How do YOU do it? Niche websites...

I have a few authority niche websites that are ranking in the top 3 in Google and am testing different things.

My websites are generally in the cures and remedies area of health and I was wondering what you guys think is best to do to sell Clickbank products BASED ON WHAT HAS WORKED FOR YOU. PLEASE NO GUESSING thanks

1.) Have the home content be just good information and not try to sell anything at all. Perhaps maybe include an affiliate link out to the affiliate site with anchor text like get the best "xxx cure here"

Then on the left navigation have a page called "the best cure review" or something similar and hope people go to that page and then have that be the copywriting / sales letter review of the product?

2.) Have the home page be the copywriting intermixed with your keywords to rank and then get people interested to buy the product right from the start. If so what do you write? Make up a story about how that product helped you...? Pretty sure this is against the new FTC laws unless you really used the product.

3.) Other - explain

I am just trying to figure out what you other affiliate marketers do to have the best conversions. I know it can vary by niche. I would say the target market is luke warm and could be convinced to buy.

I have only targeted buying keywords.

So what is your story on how you are successful with affiliate marketing and what content you put where on your site?

Thanks,
Andrew

No. 1 is good, no need to hurry selling your products, let the buyers get know your products hints, tips, reports and more. The opt-in form will be good to replace "But Now" button.

      I agree with the above.

Also, if your sites content is written to your audience in a personal manner. Meaning they know who you are and trust your knowledge you could put at the end of each post a recommendation that has worked for you or someone you know.

Also, you should be building an email list of subscribers to your sites. Take advantage of email marketing with your visitors. Get them to opt in, then provide them useful information in weekly emails, and include some product recommendations every other email.

      Best luck!

        Definitely option 1.

I recommend a blog written from a first person perspective as a sufferer, or as an expert in the condition works best.

List building allows repeated contacts with prospects which increases the chances of an eventual sale.

Some solid tips above. Though it really depends on the type of site you are building to begin with and who you are marketing too. Remember, it is always about the customer and giving them exactly what they want.

I think option 2 is by far the best, people are always interested in knowing success stories, weather is a medical treatment gone right or any other success story i think you will grab their attention far more than with any other method like sale letter or even product reviews.

I go with number 1. Providing quality information while lightly promoting affiliate links has worked for me. Number 2 is indeed against the rules of the FTC, unless you have used the product and can provide an honest review.

What I tend to do is either number 1
      or..

I create an actual review of the product. I purchase the product from the vendor or grab a review copy. I then go through it an write a full review of the product and what your readers can expect from it.

This really does help the conversion rates, especially as people can be skeptical of various products. My reviews tend to be a good few thousand words and really go into detail about the product. It really helps build up a trust.

You don't have to say that you've used the product, just give your honest opinion of how valid the product is.

This is a good product that teaches you how to build mini niche websites...But it does take a little more work than you think by reading the sales page...as expected though!

Thank you ALL for your responses so far this is great!

I generally have been going with my sales page being the home page and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, just starting to test having great content first then trying to direct them to the review of the product...

Make your primary objective to gather people into your newsletter. If you havent got one then get one. ALL of my top affiliates are mailing list based affiliates... this way you will get value from your subscribers / visitors over and over again... I would go as far as to say don't have any outgoing links on your site at all.. just filtering people into your newsletter as heavily as possible.

    Hi

Have you checked out Health and Beauty Affiliate Programs by MarketHealth.com

It is a CPA affiliate network for Health and Beauty. It may be a better option than Clickbank given some of the negative feedback Clickbank has received lately. Also, CB is based on sales and your commissions get dinged for refunds.

I really like the idea of number one - as to you don't need to be hard selling your products, let them know your stuffs first, more info, more trust.

And so you can place your opi-in form at the end.

    Best lucks!

As with most people, I agree with number one as well. When I create niche sites it is mostly with adsense, but I do throw the odd affiliate banner in with varying success depending on the niche. I find that the simpler the site, the better the adsense earnings have been mainly due to the fact there are less distractions and other links for visitors to click on. I find that this makes it more likely that they click on the adsense ads.
