I would like to say Thank You to all Warriors, the culmination of a years work...

I would like this opportunity to say thank you to each and everyone of you for making this possible for me.

I found this place a year ago, and the things i have learned have truly changed my views on many things and opened a mindset and attitude that i didn't even know was within me.

Last year i set up my first blog which covered tutorials for a musical instrument which i had spent most of 20's on as a hobby. The hobby itself never made me a dime, and it was getting to the point where i was 'getting too old' to be wasting my time on it . BUt a passion is a passion and i decided that if i couldn't make it , someone else could and i could make it that bit easier for them buy writing down the things i had learned and offer advice to those starting out.

Since then the blog has become probably the number 1 destination for people who use this instrument themselves. It is an incredibly small niche and i've managed to collect just over 7000 email addresses - and have built what i would consider a good relationship with a lot of them. I'm on page 1 of Google on nearly any search for this product and sit next to the manufacturer of the instrument themselves on most of them. I get around 1200 visits a day over two thirds of which are from Google - the rest from music forums (the only place i do linking to my site ).

Over the year i tested the water with 3 small products selling on my site and from them am now bringing in between $50 to $100 a day. I'm also making around $10 from Adsense now and make around $800 p/m from affiliate marketing others products on my site. This money has gone back into the blog, into an ipad application i am developing and...

This was just the start - i racked my brains about what i could do to really monetize the project. Then it hit me - of course... Video tutorials!!

With what i have learnt about outsourcing i have spent the past 2 months working on a video tutorial series on the specific niche - in fact this video will be the first of it's kind in this niche and quite unique. At over 2.5 hrs long there is nothing else really like it. My proposed price is going to be initially $27 for the first week then bump it up to $47 there after.

This Sunday i plan to send out the link to buy the video course to my subscribers, and the following week put it live on the blog itself and expose it to the traffic. The link will initially go out to the 7000 mailing list (quite a responsive list at 35% open/42% click avg)

Excited really doesn't come close to how i feel. It's the culmination of a years work - building the relationships, working 3 or 4 hours a day outside my normal job on everything from back linking, getting my hands dirty with PHP and personally answering each of the 10 or so emails i get every day from people who use the site. The blog itself feels a bit like a Juggernaut now LOL.

I have just hired an 'Editor' who has taken over content population, back linking on forums and managing my FB group page - this i believe will mean i can move onto my new blog idea, which i hope to make as successful using the knowledge i have gained from blog number 1.

I just wanted to say thank you to all for planting the seed at the beginning and having so much invaluable information in one place. To anyone out there who's just starting out or not making it yet... everything you need is already here. Each post has a hidden nugget of knowledge. Every day i learn something new and apply it to my blog.

Perhaps i will write a short ebook on how i started, how i got the traffic/subscribers etc - but that is for another post

I will report back early next week when the course goes out.
