Isn't this the number one reason people don't publish a video?
But I will tell you what. Put a video front and center on your website, and watch the conversions increase!

    True, it is quite rediculous how worried we all are about what others think. Even if you dont show yourself tho, conversions will still increase so dont know what keeps people back.

      I was just watching a vidoe about how to get videos to rank and make you more money when I came over to the WF to relax for a moment.

      I did not used to be a big believer in video, but I have changed my mind ina serious way.

    Really though videos aren't hard to make and are EXTREMELY effective in lowering bounce rate increasing time spent on site AND increasing conversions

        You provide a video telling the customers why they need your service and what it's going to do for them

        Pretty much it will just increase your conversion rate.

        Videos are much simpler than reading yourself, people are lazy and it's sort of like being read to.

        I also feel since you're putting yourself out there it creates a sort of bond/trust between seller/consumer

    Well your site is telling them what they get not why they need it. An example of competition show them what the others are doing and show them they need it too

    Email marketing and such blah blah blah becoming less useful everyone has cell phones so on

    something along the lines

    They also great for getting traffic. I syndicate all of my articles into videos and they do great. I just do powerpoint type videos or even videos with a static image in the background.

    Personally, I skip videos that feature nothing but a person running his or her mouth. The only value I find in videos is when they provide a visual walk-through of something complicated, like setting options for software or installing an unconventional wordpress plug-in.

    Watching someone talk, imo, is a waste of time. And it certainly doesn't help things when facial expressions suggest that the person in the video doesn't even believe the b.s. coming out of their mouth.

    I'm a big fan of videos. Sure it's easy to feel a bit silly the first time you do it but after a few videos it becomes pretty easy and natural and actually fun.

    I'd much rather create a funky video explaining the benefits of my site/product/whatever than sit there and write an entire sales pitch. They're really engaging and because so few other marketers are willing to do video it makes you stand out from the crowd.

    Don't worry about looking stupid man, just do it!

    When I am posing for the camera, I tend to stutter when I speak.

    I need to just shoot from the hip to create a video that people want to listen to again and again, but that is hard to do when the camera is on me specifically.

      I used to sing, and if you put me in front of a crowd I was great. Put me in a studio and I would freeze up. I would have to have a drink or something to relax which lead to a sloppy recording. A friend of mine who sang told me to do this. Prepare, prepare prepare. Then imagine you are in front of a crowd or a good friend, and then sing to that person. Closing my eyes used to help a lot with that.

      As for recording video. Just let the camera run and do a bunch of takes and edit the best ones together. That's why God gave us editing software! Do a few silly takes, a few over the top takes. Get it all out. Then when you feel calmer, think of your best friend. Really think about him/her. Look into the camera like you see their face and tell your best friend this great news you have for them. I bet you those will be your best takes.
