Number of visits , Number of Sales

Hi there,

I know it is a really difficult question to answer however I was wondering how many visits it takes to your website to conver a sale.

I guess it depends on the website and what you are selling.

I'm just curious.

thanks

Depends on the way you market your product and your sources of traffic. The best conversions I've seen was by one of my affiliates. He was getting sales in every 5 clicks.

It really depends on the product and how bad they want it and whether or not you are bringing in targeted traffic.

You could have 1000s of visits to your site without a sale if the traffic isn't targeted and the product doesn't convert well itself.

I also have a couple of products that convert 1 in about 15-20 with targeted traffic and a "desperate niche".

If you're using email marketing to get people to your offer, then the results could be better (should be better) than the rest.

It all depends on the sales copy. If people come and want it they'll buy it, no matter if the sales letter is crap or not. You'll always make a sale if you have targeted traffic.

The question has so many variables it's pretty much impossible to answer.

Here are some of my results.

Through an email list where I have a relationship with them, my average conversion rate is 23%. That is based on the number of visitors to the site within a 24 hour period after sending an email to my lists.

Using bookmarking and other social media channels, I generally get about 7% conversion.

I'm not much into PPC, but have also had 12% to 28% conversion on different campaigns.

the best thing to do is test. keep the one that's working and change the one that's not, and continue to improve the conversion rates.
