Blog Commenting Vs. Guest Blog Posting Link Juice Value

I am curious as to what your thoughts are in terms of link juice when it comes to blog comment links and blog post links.

Does Google or the other search engines weigh the value of the link due to where it appears on the website?

Just curious as to what your experience with this is.

    I believe links that appear higher up on the page are given more weight

    Guest blog posting on popular/high PR blogs is definitely going to get you much more link juice AND traffic than blog commenting.

    Blog Commenting is just so overused and exploited, I really doubt that Google values it anymore.

    I honestly don't think there's any difference, even if there is a higher PR blog comment always trumps a lower PR guest post

    Guest posting on a blog will always bring better results and the main reason for this that host trusts that the content you provide will add value to his site so that all parties benefit.

    So many people spam commenting, it can actually spoil both the look and the popularity of blog, I have started to switch off comments on my blog and instead ask trusted writers to contribute.
