So I'm pretty excited, just checked my YouTube account after a couple of months and just noticed that one of my videos has exactly..

If you do a search on Google for is Facebook going to start charging? I'll pop the middle of page 2, you'll see me wearing a red tank.

I wanted to make a few points as to what I did to actually get these views other than a few simple steps.

1. Talked about something relevant and ranted my own thoughts and opinions, I honestly didn't even think about what I was going to say I just pressed record and started the rant.

2. In my description I pretty much word for word used what I said in my video. Google can't pick up your voice from your audio to see what you're saying is relevant, so you have to actually put it in your description box and include the key words that you want to target to give you that extra boost.

3. I made sure my tags were, again, relevant to what keyword I wanted to rank for.

4. Prior to even doing anything, I did my keyword research and noticed that "is Facebook going to start charging?" got searched 1,600 searches per month exact. I figured I could give my opinion on that, and do a bit of small YouTube SEO in the description and tags.

5. I didn't build a single backlink!

Although I uploaded this video about 6 months ago, the views didn't start pouring in till about a month or so ago (I'm assuming). So obviously it's going to take a bit of time to rank up but if it's a quality video, people will share it around and it'll do the job for you.

  Yeah a bit of luck was definitely involved but other than that I just optimized it so Google could get a hold of it! Wasn't that tough!
  
  Plus with everyone panicking lately that facebook is starting to charge, I'm sure the search volume is/was starting to go up..so that certainly helped.

Funny question because at the time I was just learning how to rank YouTube videos, and I also started to focus a bunch on SEO which was retarded since I found out later I could outsource.

So to answer your questions..big goose egg. I look at it as a learning experience, however I did just change the link in the description box to take users to my facebook fan page..which in turn will redirect users to my blog where I make posts here and there.

Haven't lately since my website got hacked but from there I'll monetize/build a list from website opt ins..but I'm also going to include iFrames on my landing page..so I can force the visitor to like the page, but then after that it'll flip to the new tab and give them the option to download a free eBook by opting in.

So that's the plan brotha!

That's what I thought - but stilll, valuable learning!

Now - if you are inside Youtube's revenue sharing - THAT would be awesome - because a lot of those "viral videos" would be easily monetized.

I forget where but I remember hearing that this guy got approved after only 10,000 youtube views. Apparently he had a lot of interaction on his channel and youtube approved him for a partnership..maybe that plays a factor as well?

Definitely a great learning experience though. Now to monetize!

That's great stuff on YouTube SEO. There's still so much untapped potential in the video marketing space. Often it can be so much easier to get a video to rank on google quickly than building hundreds of back-links. Add to this, the sharing factor in social media sites and you've got a winner.

you don't have to build a huge website, just make a relevant youtube video. Rank it, send people to an easy made squeeze page, build a list or just redirect them to an affiliate offer and boom..instant cash.

Obviously you still want to add value to that person and not treat them like cattle, but hey just point people in the right direction and reap the benefits.

Youtube is great made a series of video then i got them ranked 3 months later , I had 10,000 views.
