Trying to hold 1st paid workshop

I was trying to get started with my 1st paid workshop by doing a Joint Venture with a charity or nonprofit. The problem I am having is that I do not know where to find a list of local charities that are reputable.

My question is how do I find local charities and nonprofits that can sponsor my workshop and who do I contact within that organization?

What traits do I look for if I want to have the workshop within 2 weeks and make at least $500 profit?

Thank for any suggestions

That doesn't make sense that you want to make a profit while working with a nonprofit. If you want to help a charity why don't you just just do a free workshop? Maybe I'm missing something here.

You could do the workshop for free, and depending on what it's for, offer your services on the back end. You may find that if the workshop goes well, you would end up with referrals for other ones and requests for your services.

The idea is to position yourself for the long run, rather than making money up front. The potential to make more long term should be your strategy.

    Thanks,
