Infringement of Trademark

Hi guys,

I just received a letter from an attorney for the infringement of trademark on one of my mfa sites. My own fault.

They asked me to remove all reference and images to them on the site. So I will go into the wp theme and remove everything to make it blank. Is that correct?

Also, they stated I am to transfer the rights of the domain to them. Can someone instruct me on how to do that?

Thanks,
Deb

They need to have an account at where ever you have the domain registered. Then you get their info - username and email if it's godaddy, just username if it's namecheap and just push the domain to them. Google how to push in whatever registrar you have it registered in.

Ok. Thanks. I will have to e-mail them and ask them if they have an account and get the info. What happens if they don't have an account there?

        They create one.

First I would recommend that you find out if it is indeed from a real attorney. There are, unfortuantely, some people who would be willing to steal domain names by using scare tactics.

If you are sure it's a legitimate request, then take it seriously. But don't automatically roll over just because of an official looking letterhead.

I'm not saying it's a scam, but it is a possibility.

However, if you are using a trademarked name, and they sent the letter via postal mail (not e-mail), then those are two signs which point to it being a legitimate request.

    All the best,
    Michael

Does the domain name infringe their TM or the reference and images?

Seems like all. Made For Adsense (MFA) sites especially tend to get into trouble
if they use a trademark in the domain name to ride off the mark's traffic or so.

(And then someone's going to say ignore their letter and fight them in 5...4...3...)
