Question about reuse of articles?

Hello, I was wondering what the rules are with using other peoples articles on your blog. I am working on a sports blog and was wondering if you can take articles off of sites like espn.com and repost them on your blog as long as you keep it original and provide a link with it. Im talking like the game preview articles and stuff.

I would say ask the original author for permission first and foremost before you do that.

Either that, or place a link to the article in a blog post...like I do.

Sometimes, I just post blogs recommending other people's articles, and just say why not give em a link?

I did that when I saw an article about Sebastian Foss. I simply recommended the dude's articles. Didn't know that my simple recommendation would rank better in Google than the article would! LOL

Just go on Google and look up 'feed blaster' and you'll see what I mean. Both my post, and the original article I recommended are on the first page of results. Mine is #3, his is #10.

That's an interesting case where a reference to the article ranks higher than the
article itself. Never thought of that angle.

I guess other factors come into play.

Well does anyone know if I could still copy and paste the article as long as I give credit. I would really like to keep articles on my site as well so that I can keep them on my site.
