Very interesting, you see, i just signed up at membersnap and was able to create my own website. Well lemme first bring up the fact that I'm a complete newbie at the moment and would like to keep things as simple as possible. So i just went ahead and used one of their built in products for my website, i'll put the link at the end so you could see. Anyways, i don't know if i'm getting started correctly or not. I would appreciate any tips and suggestions.

Yes - you are on the right track, however, the site(template) you have applied/used is not based on a membership website. It's more likely to be a product's sales page, and so you now then can create a product or find a PLR product to apply to that temaplate - and you are right to go!

Slight problem, I don't know how to create a product. What's wrong with just using this current one alone? And where should i go from there after I have my products created? Am I going to need a list or anything?

Should my number one goal be to get affiliates signed up to my site and having them promote my items for me? When I think about it, i can imagine money pouring in day in and day out this way.

Of course you can use the product already listed on the template now - what you now have to do is to drive traffic to it!

Either on doing SEO to rank high on google, or using PPC paid traffic to drive visitors to your sales page.

Any comments on membersnap? It's in beta and free to register now which sounds tempting but this is the first time I've ran across it.

I just took a look at membersnap. Looks nice for new marketers to get started with members sites. There is a useful headline graphics generator in there which I will use to save time rather than using PS.

Other than that, I must say I still prefer to use Profits Theme or WPBuyNow on my own hosting and have control and ownership of the whole structure including the database.

My goal is to make a membership site where members will have a monthly subscription where they'll get access to products that they can also help me promote for a commission. And all I do is sit there and watch money pour in. Is this something that'll work?

Hey Xdonald, I'd have to say that Johnny said it best: a membership site is basically a site where you need to register to join: members can either join for free or pay to join.

Some sites, like here on the WF for example has a paid section where you can become a War Room member and gain access to other parts of the WF you wouldnt normally be able to use as a non paid member.
