QUESTION... about paying for traffic

I saw an ad on fiverr.com... It said something like ... "I'll get you 20,000 unique visitors for $5 in one day"

can any1 explain this to me? How does a person do this? Is it legit? Is it worth buying?

    Hi Janice,

That's a lot of unique traffic. However, the question is
will it convert (will the traffic sign-up to your list or buy
    from you).

There's no best answer to that except to test it. Anyway
    it's only $5.

However, be careful as well because there are software
that can make it appear that your site was visited by
thousands of unique IPs when the truth is the software
    just generated those.

    Hi

Usually these are bots or "click farms".

If you want crap traffic just for the numbers- fine. If you want opt-ins or buyers you will not find them with these traffic sources.

Like Subie said, this person is either using bots or click forms - or even hijacking traffic and sending them to your site.

The problem with this is that even if the traffic is human, it won't be targeted, and likely they'll just be angry that they were forced to land on your page against their will.

    I wouldn't buy that gig.

I agree with everyone else. If you are looking for numbers, its there. But as far as conversions and profits, you can forget about it.

You need targeted traffic (visitors who are already interested in what you are promoting)

I know, a lot of the gigs say they provide targeted traffic - but trust me, they dont. lol

It's quality versus quantity.......quality always wins.

I have a report on my computer that shows you how you can generate that traffic. No one ever sees your site though. I got that report many years ago, it is a big scam, but when you buy visitors, that is what you end up with. There are no actual people that will actually load your page in their browser and review your offer or click on any ads.

You should check out what buyers are saying about that gig. If there are no reviews yet, then do not buy it!
