I Don't [Bleeping] Know What It's Worth!

Looking down the first page of the main forum, it looks like we've morphed into some kind of bizarre "IM Roadshow".

As I write this, there are at least half a dozen threads with some variation of 'how much is [my whatever] worth?'

You want the truth? I have no freaking idea, and even the most experienced person here can at best give you a guess unless they're making a hard offer.

Whether it's a domain name, blog, PLR package or something else, it's worth exactly what someone will pay for it. And the only way to find out for sure is to put the damn thing up for sale. When someone else has your widget and you have their money, you'll know exactly what it's worth.

Anything else is pure fantasy.

Yep, asking and getting are two totally different things.

      Exactly.

If done correctly, you won't just set your price and then forget it.

Constantly test to find the point at which sales price and sales quantities converge to give you the best return.

        I couldn't agree more John.

In fact, I can't even recall the last time I opened a "What's it worth" thread, as it's typically not worth my time!

As for your own post here John - priceless

Perfect. I've thought the same thing so often, but never said it. People are going to have to figure out their own prices. The best anyone can do here is give a guess based on whatever historical data they can come up with, like previous Flippa sales, similar domain sales, etc. Doesn't mean they'll get that. They might get more, they might get less, they might get nothing.

    Love this post!

    IM Roadshow......LOL!

Maybe the WF should consider having a 'Roadshow' forum and charge $20 to post.

Without a lot of research on the part of the person who responds, any answer is going to be a guess. Might be a good guess or might be a bad one, but the only way to tell if it was good guess or not is for the person asking to sell the site, product, plr package or whatever and see how much they get for it.
