Do I need a website at this moment in time?

Hi All,

It may seem strange to some people but I really don't have any intention of setting up a website just yet.

I know the niche I wish to enter and I do have some knowledge of the niche. I just feel I have far to much to learn at this moment in time before I can speak with any authority on the subject.

I am busy putting together my business plan and setting my goals and feel the next couple of months would be better spent learning more on my niche. I had thought of starting a blog and maybe documenting what I learn as and when it happens without thinking of trying to earn money from it.

Another thing that is stopping me at the moment is my knowledge of website building which is zero although after watching some training videos I am confident I could install a blog once I get hosting.

I am not in a rush as I want to do this right and do not want to put up an inferior site and end up dissapointed when nothing happens.

Any advice would be appreciated

Jay

    Hello Mr. Cohen,

This is an excellent question and unfortunately many don't ask it. While I will admit it's a good idea to act while you are learning it's vital that you don't blow through resources while doing it.

Many people spend while learning however when they are ready to act fully they don't have the money to do so. You want to make sure that you do not become one of these people.

Plan your website name, designs, and other technical works. This way when you act it's done without hesitation or delay.

Write your blogs and save them so that when you have your site ready you have tons of content to immediately post, or post over time. This give you plenty of time to create more content while distributing your previous works.

You don't have to know everything about your chosen niche, in fact most will go from their own experience and readers, subscribers, and customers love this. Don't be afraid to move forward, just stick to your plans and follow through every single day

  • Nowadays IM is becoming more and more important and in my opinion each business should have web page. Thinks about the domain name to be simple, easily memorable and related to your business. Then you should think about articles to promote your business and make people interested in this.
Most of SEO and internet marketers, I think, don't have a knowledge of coding to make sites, and you don't need to know. My advice is to make your site on wordpress. It's very easy to install and also the dashboard is also very convenient to use. There are many tutorials how to install it. And some of host companies have the wordpress installation in the host control panel, just click the button "install Wordpress" and your site is ready.
    Wish you success

    Hello,
One thing is to start and another is to know when to start.
I will advice you to fix your plan first, then when you are ready to go online get a domain, hosting and start fully.

There's no better teacher than experience. I would put up a blog and start posting while you are learning. You get the benefit of learning about your niche and learning about blogs at the same time. Posts can be deleted if you aren't happy with them at a later date.

why not go to blogger and create a 'test' site?

if you find the whole process ok, then either stay on blogger or make the leap to hosting your own sites...

If you do not start now, when else would you start. Start is slowly and step by step. Dnd from now to action. then you see 3 months a head you will better master from any subject.

Websites, especially those built on the wordpress framework are easy to modify and change whenever you want. Many people teach starting now as the best way to get going, when your project is good enough, but maybe not perfect.

There is not really any way to know if everything is perfect enough to begin, so you could probably go ahead and make a site today if you are willing to change it around a bit if needed.

    hey,

if you know the niche you can just find products in that niche and promote it as an affiliate, doing this does not require a website.

you can create a blog on wordpress and write a review and post your affiliate link in it, or you can become a member of a forum in that niche, make contributory posts and then suggest the product providing the link whilst at the same time teach yourself about website building. This is what i done when i first started.

    hope that helps

It doesn't sound strange at all. Most people new to IM have the same feelings and misgivings as you. It is a Point we all have to over come in our own way. Sometimes it hangs around for a long time. Deer in the headlights sort of thing.

I think you are selling yourself short you don't have to even be able to build a website to have one. If that were the case the web would be much smaller.
You know the niche you want you've thought about starting a blog to chronicle the next 2 months of learning more about your niche. Why not combine the two and start a blog about your niche with some help really chronicle what you are doing to get started in your niche.
I saw an offer today from a guy who will build a word press blog for you and have it ranked in google and making 100 bucks a month in 2 months. He will set up install it and do all the hard stuff for you for a very small price. All you have to do is start posting and receiving comments.

I don't know this guy he is a fellow warrior and I just saw the offer this morning on here. He sent me some samples of websites he has built that are making 100 buck a month and I am thinking about having him build several for me. I have the link to his offer check it out and pm the guy and talk to him I think you guys would be a great fit.

I don't have any other affiliation with this guy I just think you and he could help each other that is what we are about on this forum.

here is the link to the offer Click here

Give it a look I think you'll be impressed. If I can help you in anyway let me know.

I agree with Suzanne AND majortraders - both experience and mentors have been vitally important for me. Experience is important since it helps you to determine what approach is going to make the most sense for your given situation. Mentors are great because they can greatly reduce the learning curve for a given approach.

What's funny is that the most money I've made with IM (way more than any "normal" job I've had) was the result of steering Google traffic DIRECTLY to affiliate offers (via Google Adwords). Back then I knew NOTHING about putting together a webpage - not even a landing page.

Thankfully I discovered WordPress, though. Regardless of the money, that business model (if you can call it that) was not a viable long-term business strategy - at least not for me.

My vote is for getting your hands dirty with WordPress, and gradually working towards putting together a solid website - and web presence in general! Lots of great info out there to help you on your journey!

Mentor-ship is very vital in every successful human.
But i will say take it a step at a time for you to get a good understanding of one before another, if not you can end up getting both knowledge in halves.

    Cheers.
