Best way to let customer supply details when ordering. (Paypal and wordpress)

Hi there,

I hope this post will find a few experts who can give me advice, as I haven't done something like this before.

I want to create a "buy now" button with paypal where the customer will need to supply a URL and EMAIL as he orders. I must then receive the email from paypal that I have received an order, with the customer's chosen URL and EMAIL that he filled in.

This is for an "IM Services" wordpress website of mine.

Any help on how to do this technically so that I can process the orders correctly would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Bertus

Is there some reason your customer can't be directed to a page to fill this in after the order is complete?

Set your price to be very small, like a penny. And buy through your own link with your personal PP account.

Setup a form page and then send them to your paypal button when they submit details to you. Or you can forward them to the form once they pay you. I like to get the details first since they are more inclined to order becuase they did that first. You can find tons of plugins in wp for this. What I like to do is create a hidden thank you page or form page with a form on it. Im not usre what the plugin name was but it was something like easy contact forms I think. I hope that helps out.

What I would personally do is use a great product called WP-eCart (I am in no way affiliated with these people - just happen to love their stuff!!!). You can set it up to email the customer just after purchase - and you could put a link to a registration type page in that email if you wanted.
OR - it also has the option of including a box for customer info/instructions to be included with the order (I have not tested out this feature - but I think it could work for what you are trying to do).
