Questions -

There are Fiverr people who say they can get you 300 friends, likes, followers, 10k traffic to your site, etc etc,

1) how do they do it
2) how does this effect the site in ways of rankings and site health

Considering that it is so cheap, I would say most of it is bots, they have a lot of accounts, they have a huge amount of friends that they can easily get to friend your page, or they know resellers that offer these services for even cheaper prices.

I don't know exactly, but I always figured it was something along these lines.

You need to look at each offer objectively - if it sounds too good to be true for $5 then it probably is.

Stuff a fiverr gig could be good for though:
      -getting articles written
      -getting videos made
-getting a couple of links to sites with PR
      -etc.

Well I know haha. I just cant figure out how they do it. I figured bots but Ive gone through some of these accounts and they're wayyy too detailed. So maybe I figured they steal passwords (or trick people into giving them up) and they dont disturb the site but other than liking...or stuff like that.

ALSO... I wanted to know if google can tell or if it penalizes or anything of the sort.

I DID pay five bucks for facebook likes, cuz I was curious, and it worked but answered NONE of my questions lol.

I think it relay what service are you buying, if you are new on fiverr, you may buy things that can kill your website.

I agree with Johnny Optimo. These three are good. I also think submitting to directories and RSS would also help

I don't know how those people do. But I am a big admirer of those gigs. And whenever I needs things to be done, first website I go is Fiverr. Till date I have received good quality gig considering the price is only $5.

Social Media is all about building relationships with people.

I just don't understand why people buy fans, friends, likes and followers, seriously what good does it do other than build ones ego.

If you haven't built a relationship with a person than odds are they are not going to pay attention to your tweets or anything else.

I would rather build my followers, fans and likes by building relationships so they get to know and trust me.

But that is just my thoughts

    Cheers

This has nothing to do with my question but ok, thanks. I personally did it out of curiosity. The only reason I can think of people doing it is because the number of friends, likes, and followers you have is an superficial (but very real) indicator about the worthiness of the person the account belongs to. Obviously, social media is about ALOT more than just building relationships and connecting.

Don't trust just anybody...seek some reviews about the guy , see what other people that had used his services says.
There are many scammers around so be careful who you chose.
Also is better to work with older reputable members even if they charge a little more , is better to give a little more than to lose a little less for nothing.

The facebook likes, twitter friends, diggs and so on are usually through sites like youlikehits.com

They will all be real accounts but often setup just for these sites. You stick in your details and get points for following people, liking their fb pages etc.

You then offer your points to people to do the same with your sites. So in effect you get some very cold leads which are unlikely to be very responsive.

It can help you fb page look a bit more appealing and give you a boost, as people are more likely to like something if it appears people already do. But really they have very little value.

Sorry i forgot to respond about the traffic.

I have tried two of the offers for 10k visitors for $5. They returned no value. I got the visitors in both cases but my guess is that they are incentive traffic, paid very little to visit and hang around for 10 secs then leave.

I would not bother. However saying that i did get a ad spot on a site for a year which steadily gets about 20 clicks per week through to a cpa offer. cost me $5 for the year and the cpa offer has converted about 6 @ 1,60 so i am in profit 2 months in.

Can't retire on that but the ROI is good

It was less time consuming than looking for an answer....ex. This post or looking (I had already tried to google). I also made made sure to disclose the information in a post on my accountability blog.

I am having bitter experience with fiverr as a buyer. A person offered me 50000 back-links for $5. While I was giving the order I asked him about the gig he said those backlinks are permanent and will be helpful in generating traffic. When I ordered the gig after that he told that those backlinks are not permanent and that may not generate traffic.

What I have to do ? Just stopped using fiverr.

Report person to fiverr for being deceptive in his offer. Fiverr does a good job about keeping their own house clean.

No doubt Fiverr is great concept facilitating easy outsourcing at reasonable cost, however one has to be rally careful in hiring the best quality.Getting FB likes is not easy and acquiring such a huge number in a short time can only be through illegal spam techniques which can actually destroy the reputation of your FB page.I believe FB is the best online media for brand marketing !!

I totally agree. furthermore, it destroys the market for virtual assistants and all the other online service providers.

Okay I am not trying to come out as Mr. Bad guy here but why did you believe you would get 50,000 backlinks for 5 bucks?

Trust me, the "too good to be true" cliche is mostly correct and I think it would help you alot if you would use a little buyer beware not only on fiverr but in any marketplace.

I've found Fiverr to be good for getting some social bookmarking done after posting a new article for my blog. The Stumbles particularly are good because I usually get lasting residual traffic from thos intial Stumble bookmarks. I wouldn't use them for backlinks as most are junk and a chance you can get sandboxed for it.

kmids, may be they use something like Free Targeted Facebook Fans/Likes, Fast Twitter Followers, Get Youtube Video Views, Buy VIP this tricks to get facebook fans.. And as of my knowledge this peoples have created so many fake accounts with different names and have thousands of friends & fans on every account to who they invite to become fan or with whom they share your link to give traffic.. not sure exactly but must be something like that only..

Yes you do have to be careful with micro job sites and, as already said, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
in saying that, one of the best values I find is in getting articles written. There are some good (and very fast) writers out there who will give you good articles.

There are some truly awesome gigs on fiverr. Reviews are a great indicator of value. I wouldnt touch the links offers with a barge pole - particularly if they offered high volume. **Maybe** if they offered say 3 x .edu links of PR4 or higher - and they had great reviews. I would test them with a site that I didnt care about - just in case there were problems. Google is pretty strict about its "bad neighbourhood" criterion - so it is important to make sure that any links you get are legitimate, valid and quality links - and that is very unlikely to happen if you are getting 50,000 for $5.

I agree with the 1st comment most or at least have of it is untargeting and bot traffic 10k unique visitors in one week is nearly impossible unless you have a list otherwise no!
