Is Internet Marketing A Means To An End For You?

As much as I would say that I'm passionate about internet marketing, I wouldn't say that this is what I want to do above all else in life.

I'd like to earn enough money to go travelling whenever I wanted and in honesty my dream job would be to be involved in the world of art, whether that would be painting type art or film making.

So my question is, what is the end goal for people on the warrior forum? To become successful at internet marketing to earn a living or to become successful at internet marketing to pursue something else?

Thanks,
Matt

I really don't want to spend 100% of my time on the computer. My interests in some terra subjects are too strong to want a 100% online career existence. But the money is good online so as long as IM is a possibility, I'll at least be online part-time. If for some reason IM became extinct yet the internet was still around, I'd still make some informational sites.

I would like to be a speaker and continue teaching online marketing to live audiencies all over the world transforming and renewing minds. That way, I get to travel and work at the same time, doing what I love doing.

I would also like to be able to learn other stuff, like playing some musical instrument, and many other things that I could do for as long as I am financially free.

I don't see how I will be much further from IM as most of the stuff will involve the internet though.

      Matt,

Your point is well taken. While I find Internet marketing interesting, challenging, personally satisfying, etc. ultimately it is a means to an end.

I want to build businesses that will allow me to travel outside the country. I now live near Tampa but have clients in Dallas, Fort Worth, West Palm Beach that don't know that I have moved. It looks like it is working out.

      Regards,

As of the moment, I also don't want to spend 100% of my time in front of a computer. For more than 4 years since I started my IM business, I am still a part-timer and still have my full-time day job. Although I could say that I am now into the process of transition from online to full-time in the IM world, but still, I would want to have some "part-timer" on my daytime job since I don't want to detach from that world that I love.
It's very clear that the IM world provides me some extra money that I could use for my bills and that helped me have some savings, and that I am very thankful that I was introduced to this world. And I am also teaching other people such as my friends, both offline and online, about this IM business since it helped me a lot and I would like to help others too.

Good question. I have sparks and glimpses of when I really enjoy internet marketing and see it as my proud livelihood. I enjoy some aspects of the trade of IM like SEO and putting the puzzle pieces together to get a web page or site to rank well.

More often just like any other job it is just about making money and longing for when I can quit it (irony noted) and focus on my true creative passions like creating music for a living.

Most of what I have been doing over the last few years has been with a view to outsourcing the majority of my workload. Frankly I believe I can get it down to roughly one day per week and at that level of input, I can be happy doing that wherever.

Thankfully I'm not particularly involved in network marketing on a big scale so I don't have to keep much of a profile active in order to keep the profit coming in.

So yes, while I do enjoy it, and while I am good at it, it is a means to an end.

I believe I will be involved in IM until the bitter end. The main reason I have been involved in IM is because it was harder than anything I have come across before. Many of us don't realize that we just love analyzing and solving intricate puzzles. At first I thought I was just in it for the money as well. The more I thought about it the more I realized that I just love the constant struggle to better myself.
