I will be using Wordpress and Wishlist Member for a mini product membership site (although I'm just using Wishlist because it's something I already had). Also, I'm currently working on a MRR one using amember. I'm sure there are a few more options.

Thanks for all thre reponses so far. I do have wishlist so good chance I will use it for the membership script.

What about the layout for the members area, I do have optimize press but I dont think it will work for a good layout as I need to show different products to download each month.

Can anyone show me a good wordpress layout for an eBook membership store?

At the risk of being shouted down, unless you are a traffic wizard - don't start up yet another MRR site.

Especially if it's selling other people's PLR. There's a ton of these websites.

Just a thought to consider.

I've used WP Buy Now, WP Access and I just started using DAP...

DAP or Digital Access Pass (WordPress Membership Plugin - Membership Script For WordPress Blogs And Regular Web Sites) is awesome! You can do everything with it and then more! I researched this extensively and DAP was well worth the investment...

I have been using WP MemberChamp along with JVZoo. Since JVZoo has an affiliate program built right in it works great. Also, it's nice because you only have to buy WP MemberChamp once and you can use it on as many sites as you want.

I use profitstheme, its a good product but took me forever for the learning curve. I wish I would of went with Dap, because by the time I was done buying the plugins it cost just as much. Both programs are good or so I hear about dap.

Both do work for wordpress I might add, I will also say had some problems with profitstheme because of other plugins and had to uninstall those. Really didn't like being told you have a plugin problem. I think they should of said, let us work on that for you.

In the end I settled for wp-emember combined with Flexsqueeze and am really happy with that setup.

I have another membership site in the pipeline, this time aimed at the self-development niche. I think for this site I will go with Optimizepress, wp-emember is really good...but Optimizepress gives you much better control over squeezepages and content.

I think you are making a very wise decision, in my case with negligible promotion I now have 30 recurring members who are happy with the service and I have another great passive income stream. It's the best move I made at the end of 2011 and when I start focusing on promoting the membership site proper... I think I will have another very profitable business within a really short time frame..

It's a great idea, go with it and i'm sure you will have success!

I'm working on one too so this thread helped a lot. Its true man you really do need to just do your homework and make sure your business model is sound. But there is ALWAYS going to be someone saying it won't work or do something else. But if you spend your time jumping from one thing to the next or being swayed by negative people the only thing GUARANTEED is that you will NEVER be successful at anything or make any good money at all.
