How Do I Put Links Back to My Site In My WP Blog?

Hi Warriors,

Ok, I'm getting a blog set up and I would like to have links back to my site (which is NOT a WP blog) in the blog. As far as I can tell right now, any links I set up on the blog simply link to other pages WITHIN the blog. I want to link to my site.

You can see a couple of examples I'm trying to model here:

1. The Publicity Hound's Blog
2. Thrive After Divorce

See how they both have links at the top that link back to their site? That's what I'm trying to do. How to I put links in my blog that go back to my main site too?

Thanks for your help!

Michelle

Add the site you want to link to on your blogroll or links feature on wordpress, that adds the links to all pages of your blog.

If you mean changing the links on the top navigational menu, you would need to manually edit those in the header.php of your wordpress and these will also be displayed on all your blogs pages.

It also depends on the theme you use, there was this old theme I used from a couple of years ago which had a menu.php that allowed me to change what links I displayed on the navi menu on top right below the header image. I do not see any of those in use today though, so if you do not find a theme that allows that, your only option may be manually editing the header.php and put in those links, and not use the dynamic php calls that the standard wordpress header.php contains.

One of the plugins listed over in this post may be what you are looking for. You can set up any keywords or phrases to automatically link to another url. And links from within your blog content are more natural.

      Thanks guys!

      Stephan,

I know what you mean about making the links more natural, but I want the navigation of my blog to mimic that of my site. It's really important to my business model and site/blog structure. Plus, I don't want them dropping off the page with the posts.

I will see what my designer says..

      Thanks,
