Confused as to how much to charge for this site.

I know the general rule is 5x to 12x of your sites monthly earning but this niche is hot plus this niche site has got 7000 uniques last month.

Not too big a figure but not small also.

-My question is what would be a reasonable amount to ask for the site.
-Also what is the best option other than escrow.com for selling a site.

Thanks,
Ashish

Hard to give any advice when you don't say what niche, or how much money it is making. I recently sold a site and got around 6 times its average monthly earnings(for the previous 6 months). I'd say work out the average monthly earnings first, multiply that by 10 and add or subtract from that figure to come up with a definitive amount that you want. It's then a case of putting together a very good listing with as much information as possible in it - traffic, earnings, rankings etc etc. Hopefully you'll get close to your desired figure.

Probably you can expect to get around $300 for it - maybe up to $500 or $600 if it has been earning money on autopilot for many months. Maybe even less than $300 if you only have a couple months of earnings as a track record.

Based on income alone, you can average it to $40/mnth and get $400. If it has a lot of unique content, maybe more.

Yeah, I agree with Lee and Suzanne and think you should be looking for somewhere between $300 and $600.

Unique Content ? Nope, Not much at all thats what the funny part is. Still the traffic keeps increasing.

If the traffic is increasing, why would you want to sell it? I mean assuming earnings are also increasing it could be better to hold it for 6 months or so to get the most out of it. How old is the site? How much time do you spend to maintain it? Do you feel like traffic will continue to increase or do you think you should unload it now just in case it tanks?

          Dear All,

          Thanks for advice.

          Sold the website finally !

Final comment from me : a site is worth what the buyer is willing to pay and NOT what you or the market think

          regards,

How much did you get for it, if you don't mind me asking?

It is what the market can bare and also based on how much you are going to make if you fully monatize it. From my experience, a site with 7000 uniques should make $30-$50 a month from adsense alone. Then you factor in the value of being able to harvest email addresses for your list which again would add another $25 value. I would say your site would be a good deal for someone at $40/month if you are renting or $240 (6 months revenue). I know this is probably noit what you want top hear but it is reality. Good Luck!
Have already sold it but thanks for posting anyways. Always get to learn here
