I've got an authority site packed with information. I'm not too worried about people plagiarizing my site because I rank so high generally at this point. If someone copied one of my pages, I'd almost for sure beat them out. Plus I've been around for awhile, so I'd have beat them to the punch in the Google queue.

Anyway, here's my question:

I think someone might like the whole site in an ebook. I could sell it on Amazon for example for 2.99 and I'd get 70%. And now you can get a free Kindle reader for the PC.

What do you guys think? Is this madness? To me it seems like a way to maybe make a little money off of my efforts.

Have you heard of anyone doing this?

  • That's not helpful.

You know what is ? Something like: my 100 best posts, including a paragraph about what you can learn from each one

Also, get links in your posts so that copy cats link back to you.

It's not madness, but it's also not as easy as it sounds. A site can be a collection of articles or posts and these are often printed as self-contained pieces of content. An e-book, on the other hand, needs to have a certain flow and you would have to remove a lot of the overlap that's likely present in the material on your site.

    All the best,

      Thx guys. Good comments...

The Kindle's a little harder to scrape I would think, so that's why I was thinking of going that route...

Also, if I put in on E-Junkie, which I would, they've got a watermark feature that might work.

    Why9999,

That's not madness. Seriously, from taking my content off of my websites, I now earn approximately $180 a month. It was good content and I wrote all of my articles.

So, take that info off of your site and compile it into an ebook. Make the transitions natural and you will actually have something to sell on these platforms. I did it (complete newbie), so I know that you can do it as well.

It's totally not crazy sauce. It works as long as you know that there is a market for your information.
