This is my first year doing anything Halloween related and I am seeing some sales. First sale was 10/1 and my traffic has been steadily climbing each day. My research tells me that the traffic peaks around October 25th and starts dropping quickly after that. From what I can tell, most people that have not purchased online by the 25th, look local to ensure they have something for the 31st. Good luck to you.

Expect people to be ordering past the 25th this year. Halloween falls on a Monday, which means we have about four weekends of parties, activities, and events to get through, compared to three weekends last year.

Good luck with your promotions this year. For some people Halloween is bigger than Christmas (no I'm not joking!)

I can tell you with much conviction that people are definitely shopping for Halloween costumes. I guess I have an inside edge here, but yes, people are shopping already.

The rush hasn't kicked in yet, but it will over the weekend and into next week. I think a lot of people are worried about the recession affecting things like this, however, Halloween is one of those holidays that a family can enjoy without breaking the bank--and thus its about to get wild!

    As Bloggingpro said,

Halloween for me is bigger then Christmas, this month is usually my best month for sales and commissions toppling 4 figure days consistently in some weeks.

Oct 23rd- Oct28 is going to be the rush, so try to really get in position by then.

However, I started making costume sales end of September.

Halloween is one of the most significant holidays for a lot of people for a whole lot of reasons. What I've noticed is that this year they've began acquiring their costumes earlier, which is to say yes, they already started shopping.

As somebody who is also trying to rank in time for Halloween, I think that PPC may serve us better because as somebody said above, consumers like to shop around and if you are promoting a product, they might not buy it, but if you have the option of promoting a bunch of products, (Google Ads) the likelyhood of making a few cents when a consumer clicks on an ad is pretty good.

Yup shopping for Halloween costumes has already begun. The rush for costumes will get greater as the month progresses. A lot of people are last minute shoppers, so you'll probably see a big rush the week prior to Halloween.

Without giving too much away here (for privacy reasons), I can tell you that organic SEO is a much better option compared to PPC, especially for big terms like Halloween Costumes or Kids Costumes.

For those who want to get in this game today, you need to do some top ten lists and try to get something to go viral--with your affiliate link intact. Facebook ads are your best friend right now as well, promote a fanpage to get lower clicks and then link to costumes on the Fanpage.

I could go on and on, I think about this twelve months out of the year.

Yeah, people have started shopping for Halloween. You can't really wait until the last minute when shopping online because it's gonna take some time for your stuff to arrive.
