The username of this person is cyandelmarco, it seems interesting that somebody would do this... but I clicked like 3 times and each time it just linked me to the Fiverr homepage.

And if the media ad produces profits, then the cost of marketing is not as much as others might think...

And if the person doing the ad used their own time to promote themselves, where is the cost beyond time?

Someone was dogging me just today for wasting my time in a forum making a post, but the post in question has already put money in my paypal account. :rolleyes:

Perhaps the user made a mistake sending people to the fiverr homepage instead of his/her gig page. Yes, that would be a huge waste for that user.

However, it could be fiverr, itself, doing the PPC campaign.

Fiverr you sly dog you. PPC is the game they have gotten into and they are very sneaky about the way they have done it. I mean, look what is has caused......a thread in the top Internet Marketing forum.....hmmmmm....nice little fringe benefit.

I clicked on the you tube ad to take me to the gig. Funny thing did happen on the way. It said that they were no longer a member anymore. Well, that was sad as I did want to order the service. FIVerr maybe was not happy we can guess.

For some reason that always happens when you link a gig.. Try typing in the username into the search on Fiverr, that is what I did and I found all of the users services, some very popular with 15+ FB likes but some nothing...

This was PPC

Maybe it is Fiverr itself doing the PPC ads. Members may have signed over certain rights to use their pages/name/image to the site when joining...or it may be a mystery of some sort?

The Fiverr seller is NOT buying Google ads. Fiverr is. They're using a variety of pictures and sellers in their ads. Why? Because they're trying to grow the business.

Using your logic McDonalds would never run TV ads because they're already very popular.

Fiverr now is also trying to scrape traffic off of the clones. If you put in any of the top ten clone sites like "Uphype" or "MyCheapJobs" for a google search, you will see Fiverr has purchased the top spot with the landing page of:

I'm thinking that they have actually hired a good marketing person. Most likely they realized the "Hey this site is cool" factor has worn off and they need to start marketing. Most of the traffic I get (and I get a lot) has never heard of fiverr

Ok lets look at this.

For every fiverr sale ...

Fiverr user makes = $4

And Fiverr the business makes = $1

Now seen as though there are probably 50 fiverr sales a second, of each and every day and 24 hours a day. (dont quote me just a guess)

They have some serious capital to play around with advertising.

I am suprised you do dont see them advertising more via paid media. ????

PPC and paid media buys work.
