    Yes, it can be done.

But the first question I want to know the answer to, is whether you mean in your first year of internet marketing.

Because there are people who make over 1 million per year in internet marketing, but extremely few will ever pull it off in their first year. Because a little of it in those cases is usually luck, since they usually don't have the skills and knowledge yet.

Yes indeed, I know a few people who have done it. Connections mean a lot though, otherwise people get caught up in inaction, trying to learn everything but doing nothing. Conversely I know many many people who have spent the last 5 years doingnothing but reading.

I know what you mean sometimes I read about peoples success stories and I get caught up in it then the day is over and I didn`t even start writing my next blog post... I think it is important to get to work instead of goof around sometimes

Anything is possible as long as you're determined. This is definitely possible but experience and knowledge will definitely be the determining factor on how you can accomplish this. Not many people get to accomplish this their first year. John Reese accomplished this in 18 hours. Yeap! Pretty darn amazing. He had a domain name and a big company bought it.

If you can create a very fresh, innovative, powerful tools that can attract lots of customers or if you can come up with a great competitor of Facebook and Google.

If you say yes, then 1 million is waiting for you in just 1 year.

I just read an e-mail recently by Mike Geary, creator of "Truth About Abs". He said that he...

    2004- Started his business.
    2006- Quit his full-time job
    2009- Hit 7-figures
    2010- Hit 8-figures

So anything's possible, but treat it like a real business. Imagine how great life would be if you made $70,000 your first year and were making 8-figures 6 years later. I'd take that.

You are right. That's "1" way of making a million ( or Billion in a year if you are competing with Google).
But duplication is the key if you want to do it the other way round. Find a business model that suits you and is scalable. If it works keep scaling up.

I really want to reach that goal per year but still struggling. Just got into 6 figures Club by God's grace though

Just because people answered the question with a "yes" doesn't mean that it is easy. It's a silly question to begin with. Obviously, you can make a million dollars in a year marketing online. There are THOUSANDS of businesses that do it. This thread is just another example of people asking the wrong questions.

100% agree. People who ask "is this possible" probably aren't going to accomplish it. People who are seriously asking themselves, "how can I do this" might actually have a small chance. At least at that point they are asking the right question.

It's crazy how much the proper mindset has made a difference in my success so far. Methods are just tools, but without aligning my mind correctly I would have accomplished very little. It must be the same for making my first million.

Regardless, I'd rather shoot for a million in a year and fail by 50% then shoot for 100k a year and succeed by 150%.

If you go for product based marketing .. it will take more than a year to get that target and will be recurring money that you will be getting for years whereas if you go with a service based marketing you can get that target within a year with a month of research on the service you are providing and the money you will be getting could last for a year or 2 .

Isn't that a bit of a silly question? There are companies out there doing $100M/year+ on internet marketing. Isn't that what all the CPA networks are? Clickbooth is a $100m/year company, Ad4D is also.

My biggest year was $30M, with 6 employees.

I totally agree with you. I wouldn't call it a silly question (though it is), rather, a very poorly worded question.

"Is it possible to go to the moon?"
      Yes.

"Is it possible to make millions selling rocks?"
      Yes.

"Is it possible to randomly combust?"
      Yes.

"Is it possible to make $1 million in 1 year in internet marketing?"
      Yes.

Perhaps a more focused question would have been better, like,

"Can a person who is new to internet marketing reasonably expect to make $1 million a year within a reasonable timeframe, say, 2 or 3 years?"

The answer, it is possible, but certainly not probable.

This is easier said than done.

We started off small and humble and use to bring in say $50 a day.

It was quite frustrating, but little did I realise $50 to $500 a day is simple, its just about up scaling and outsourcing. We do that now, and it is not uncommon for me an my business to see $500 days. Not saying that to brag but to show you what is possible and for those reading this that are having those $50 days and cannot break the damn ceiling. I know how frustrating it can be....but you just hit the jackpot...belive you me.

As with cooking, and as they say, its all in the ingredients. Once you have the ingredients and recipe you know how to bake a cake even at 3am in the morning.

Once you know what works and what brings in money Say $50 a day, you have the recipe....and from there there is nothing stopping you from making $200 or even $500 a day.

That is the icing on the cake I think.

Too many people find something that works, and then go out and look for something to work better. But they have already found the answer, possibly to making their first million online.

So I'm going to work on doubling that in the next couple of weeks which i think i will be able to achieve as i've not really started promoting that product... and well i will be almost there - at least making the right amount per day... wether i can keep it up for a year is another thing LOL, although the past 7 days have been consistent.

Of course it's possible. The internet is a BIG place. How long does it take for someone to click on your link? How long does it take a million people to click that same link? You could wake up any morning very wealthy. Wether you do or not depends largely on your actions but all you have to do is turn around and look at the internet.

But why do you need a million dollars?

I have several personal friends and know others that have made over $1 Million + online. Remember, I do live in San Diego and we got Frank Kern, Trey Smith, Mike Koenigs to name a few.
I have hit $150K to $200K the last few years, I did start full time in 2007. It takes hard work...lots of learning and watching webinars, buying many WSO and courses. The main thing to success is mindset....when you start believing in yourself. It can happen fast :-)

In order to really do $1million in one year...you would have to have some up front cash. if you had 2 years, you could do it with nothing.

This is how it would happen:

      1. with 5K, you will get the software and numerous servers & hosting environments you would need.

      2. I am guessing that most aren't programmers, so you couldn't sell a product - in this case you would have to sell other peoples

      3. Create 1,000 blogs every month to run on auto pilot.

      4. Have multiple of your servers running spam comments, social backlinking, and forum spamming using the blog RSS feeds to grab posts

      5. Spend 3 hours per day, building contacts and generating "buzz" about your product in forums that your products are associated with.

      6. do this for the first 3 months and then hire staff...1 by 1...until you have an entire team.

      7. 10 people = 10,000 auto blogs, 30 hours building rep for products, and enough income to hire 10 more people in 90-days or less...

      8. With this result, you should be building 40,000 auto blogs, 120 hours per week in rep. building, and 40 team members within 1 year.

You could always go into "over-drive" and easily double this.

If I am doing the math correct...within 1-year, you will have 300,000 auto blogs running and each blog would only need to make $3 per year.
While I've never tried this specific method, it seems to be an incredibly boring and difficult way to hit a million in a year. I'll stick to product creation and list building myself. That's where I've seen the biggest spikes in income. Especially if you have a successful product launch with many affiliates selling for you.

What Autoblogging software and/or services can you recommend? We really have to embrace automation as it makes things less complicated to implement and saved much time too

I hate it when people post these formulas based on maths.

This is not only impossible, but by using simple maths, I can show you how it's impossible.

1000 blogs a month is 2 every hour of the day (in a 12 hour day), and you'd work weekends.

      That means you need to:
      Register a domain
Wait for it to be ready (unless you did it in advance)
Design or use a template for the blog
      Upload the software
      Put content on it
Write content from scratch or steal it (or buy it - I doubt you'll do this)
      Create a monetization method
ALL THIS IN HALF AN HOUR.

And, you do NOT have any time for anything else. I haven't even factored in writing the 'spam' comments you talk about, server maintenance, and other problems that crop up.

Totally unrealistic, even as a ball park figure.

Totally realistic! I did a zero short of that in one weekend but increasing my prices over double (I gave list members a chance to buy it before the price rise and they did...in droves). Then I actually did raise my prices and sold dozens more. Granted, I had a valuable product that actually worked (stock market niche) but the fact remains...the internet is a BIG place and if ever it was truly possible for any average wealth seaker to make a million a year the internet is the place most likely to make it happen. But they have to want it enough and be willing to never stop putting in massive daily effort to get it.

You can do anything you want if you really want to. If it's more important to watch TV then you'll do that.

I'd focus more on what you "keep" vs earned. Plenty make $1 million a year in IM, but I'd bet money majority don't keep near that, especially with paying out affiliates, taxes, expenses etc. I do know one person who avg's around 1.5mm a year in IM, however his net is waaaaaay less after paying out affiliates etc. In comparison, I had a previous business that didn't have the revenues he does, however netted a lot more .

Many people have been conditioned to think “more time” = “more money.” (Which is true if you're working a job.) ...
However, the steps it takes to reaching $1 M are the same whether you complete them in several years or several months.

I really hate "tricks" to making money, selling guru products (frank kern, shoemoney) etc.

Honestly, the best way to always make money is have a product. A service, something that people actually want. It's longer term.

It's why so many affiliates make their own CPA networks.

What an erroneous assumption. Apparently you're not aware that guys like Frank Kern have actually made (and continue to make) a ton of money with their own products in niches that have nothing to do with MMO market.

And your last sentence is ironic to me. People wanting to make money is as evergreen and longterm as it gets. Your anti-guru postings are getting old and you've only been here a month.

Lastly, to the OP, yes, it's very possible to make a million dollars in a year, there are many individuals and companies that are doing it.

        You are right rod.

Bash the gurus all you like, but teh most successful ones will not tell you their life stories or how they were eating baked beans out of their car.

Heck I have gone through a time when i was homeless, and that is when you find out who your real friends are. But those people that helped me through the rough patches, well.... I always promised to help them financially when I made my money. And I have indeed done that.

But there is a fine line between being a millionaire and being happpy.

Sure the money is good, and will help you. But I have seen depressed millionaires and I have seen people in 3rd world countries that have nothing, yet they are the happiest people I have ever met. Isn't that weird.

I guess my point is, its all about mindset and the journey there.

Hard work is key to make 1 mill online. And leveraging the work of others that have big lists and powerful in the niche you are in. Start hanging around more millionaires too, you will soon find out when you do that, their success rubs off on you. I have always tried to hang around marketers that are more skilled and more successful and it has paid off big time.

Can you define "tricks" please? I need to be able to identify a "trick" from a new way, a new method or a new path. I also would love to know how Frank sells "tricks". Is that what you're getting at? He sells "tricks" or he is a "trick"? I'm sure there are millions of people who had products, services or "something people want" who do not "always have money" and in fact have gone quite broke.

What about CPA? What product or service are they providing? Is their CPA link a service or a product? Sorry, just a bit confused and trying to understand your thinking.

You can definitely make $1million in a year from internet marketing. Would you make $1million in your first year of internet marketing? Highly unlikely but it's not impossible!

If you really want to make $1million per month you need to change your mindset and have huge goals. Like obnoxious goals so that you start to believe in yourself A LOT!

Next you have to look at $1million as just a number that can be broken down.

    • $1,000,000
    • 12 months
    • 4 weeks in a month
    • 7 days in a week
If you divide $1,000,000 by 12 months that's $83,333 per month.

Next you divide $83,333 by 4 weeks, which is $20,833 per week.

Finally you divide $20,833 by 7 days, and you get $2,976 per day.

We'll say that you need to make $3,000 per day every day for a year to make $1,000,000.

When you think of it that way instead of just a huge gigantic number, it seems very attainable, and it is!

You can go about it a lot of ways, but at the end of the day internet marketing is a game of numbers.

Let's say you have a niche site that's converting at 1% for a product that makes you $50 commission every sale.

Now there are two ways you can make more money (other than adsense, selling ad space, etc..we're only focusing on product sales right now)

    1. Increase your traffic
    2. promote a higher paying product
So if you increase your conversion rate to say 2% you just doubled your income, and if you increase your conversion rate to 3% it just tripled!

Now the next step is to rinse and repeat with quality niche sites. The more competitive the niche the better, because odds are there's money in that market.

Create 5-10 money sites, and you can easily make $3,000 per day.

It really just takes trial, error, and a lot of commitment and the willingness to do UNTIL you get the results you want.

It's definitely possible, and hey if you don't make it to $1million..how's $500,000 sound instead?

So if you need to make $3000 a day you could sell a product at $97 and sell it 31 times. You could create two products at $97 and only have to sell around 15 of each...

Thanks ChrisAlta, Breaking down and playing the numbers game makes the million much more achievable.

It's easy as pie. It's just the proper mindset, determination, and confidence. But as they've said it takes time. I guess some luck too. Think about it this way. In martial arts there are stunts that they do like breaking-bricks, stones, marbles, ice etc. using their hands, heads, elbows. How did they do it? Practice, being fearless (For sure that hurts!) but the biggest factor is their mindset. They AIM past it. It may not be a good analogy but i hope you'll get the point that i want to convey. Think further.

Certainly not in your 1st year, as you'll wast quite a bit f time and money finding out what works and what doesn't....... If you make it to the third year in internet marketing then, it's safe to say you're doing something right. You will be more established, likely to had a large email list, quite a few websites generating natural and affiliates sales. It would still be very difficult to make $1m in any calendar year, but certainly not impossible. I reckon only about 2% of IM's make $1m+ a year.

Everything is possible as long as you are determined. This is certainly possible, but the experience and knowledge will undoubtedly be the determining factor of how you can accomplish this. Not many people to make this your first year. John Reese made this in 18 hours. Yeap! Pretty amazing. I had a domain name and a great company that bought it.

There are proven formulas for making that kind of money.

But I think the question should be...

Is it possible to make $1 million in 1 year in internet marketing while doing things you enjoy doing and spending the amount of time you want to spend when doing them?

Money alone isn't going to make you happy.

One way to make a million in a year is to get a call center that sells high ticket items. Generate your leads with the internet, sell products via internet, then call them up and sell them high ticket items or services. But then you also have to fulfill it.

But who the heck wants to do that? If you do, then cool...

That's the problem though, isn't it?

The more potential there is to make money doing something, the less attractive it is to do... or at least it seems that way.

    Think about it...

Doesn't it seem that 90% of people are attracted to building their businesses using the least effective tactics and strategies necessary?

And the less sexy it gets, the more profit potential there is, but the less people want to do it.

Of-course you can make $1 million in 1 year... but not in the first year. You'll have to get some bitter experience before that. If you keep on refining your skill by learning from your as well as other's mistakes, you can achieve that level. There is no magic wand. Learn patiently and smartly... Good luck !

Of course it is possible, but it takes dedication, something I have lacked. It is all about following through and continue to keep working at your goals.

Celente, I'll tell you my life story and even tell you for free the key to me making as much as $100M revenue in one year. Most of the people here already said it: dedication to goals, working hard, testing, testing...

..and most importantly being smart. I see too many affiliates make $30k, and turn around and buy a car. I invested most of my money into everything from my retirement to other people's business.

I live out in the Silicone Valley and I see people getting way above the 1 million dollar mark in checks quite often. And we are talking about young kids also.

Now I know that this is Internet Marketing and it's a different ball game but my point is that your level of creativity will go a long way.

And those two markets are not at all that different afterall - you can always create software like some of these "gurus" are doing, or work with a computer/internet catering mindset that delivers something similar as dot com start ups do.

Hope this sparks a few ideas out there.

How is "internet marketing" a different game. Most of the Silicon Valley checks come from internet marketing, interactive advertising..etc..

Pocketing a Million a year? Yes, definitely possible as a seasoned marketer with the knowledge, tested and proven plan and resources. Starting out as a newbie? Chances are very slim to pocket a Million after a year. Personally I think the learning curve tend to be on the steep side. And as stated earlier in the thread some people are still reading after 3 years.

Well that settles it! If it's going to take longer than a year and if I have to do hard work I'm going back to my day job as a greeter at Wallmart.

On a serious note. I think a 4-year plan is more realistically attainable. 1,000K in 12 months from a cold start is not very realistic without a windfall of good luck. A Four Year Millionaire Plan, with dedicatioin and focus could be attained. After that, the next 4, 8, 12 and 16 years could get downright interesting.

Yes, it's possible, but it would take some skill, a lot of hard work, and a bit of luck. Not necessarily in that order.

Find yourself an idea or a product that you know can't lose.(Easier said than done, I know) Build yourself a website, with the help of a professional, of course. Get as much traffic to your website as you possibly can. Work day and night to build up your e-mail list with an autoresponder attached. Make it a priority to work your business at least 5 hours a day. Have fun with it and be creative!

Of course, there's more to it than that, but those are the basics.

You may end up spending more money than you had anticipated. But you also might hit that million dollar mark in 1 year.

    Go for it!

Are there actual millionaires on this thread? I think it's silly when people will tell you how to make a $1 million buckaroos, but aren't doing it themselves. Like a successful mentor once told me, "If you want to be rich, you need to hang around those who are rich." That's why I am in the WF

Frankly speaking, you need 3 things to achieve $1m yearly

    1. Create a product and have an army of affiliates

    2. Media buys

    3. Huge list that is highly responsive i.e. like 200,000 strong

At the end of the day, we should just thank God for being alive.

You see It could be done, many have done that, but bear in mind that success can't be attained overnight, I don't want to sound a bit harsh for anyone but most of us, (yeah, including me some time ago) are too focus on making lots and lots and lots of money, We can for sure do that, but it takes learning and time and effort and dedication.

    I agree with jasonParker,:
Money alone isn't going to make you happy.

It's how we help change the lives of other people, our families, love ones and ourselves.

  • What I really wonder is how many of those who answered "Yes, sure it's possible" are actually millionaires... talking is cheap, but who here does actually walk the talk? That would be a far better indicator on whether making $1M a year is possible or not.

Technically, you could make a million in almost EVERY industry, whether it be internet marketing, ebaying, selling used cars, or even shipping flowers.

It all depends on your drive, determination, SKILL and your ability to invest and scale up once you start achieving a good, profitable formula...expand...
