Hey Warriors!

I got off of a Skype call a few hours ago and I found out that my headset was a bit of a banger.

I thought some Warriors could give me a recommendation on what kind of headset they use. The main problem was with the mic.

Preferably a USB plug in.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance guys,

Jamie

I heard about that one too.

Wanted to buy it but though it might be too cheap to be good.

Negative. Own it, love it, use it all the time. THX certified. I do voice overs with it and it works fantastic. Best buy out there.

        I use Logitech wireless.

There are advantages in both wireless and wired.

Sometimes wireless makes static. But I can walk around the house with wireless.
        Haha, I like that!

Any specific model at all? Google's showing a few, and I'm clueless when it come to the features etc.

Any usb mike will be pretty good, anything that comes in via your soundcard without a pre amp will be crap.

I have a samson c01u got on ebay and a microsoft lifechat headeset. around $50 and despite the "M" on it, its really good.

Depending on your needs, There is a studio mike that has headets on the mike (can't remember of the top of my head but if you want details send a pm and I will try and find for you.)

I really like the headset option as it eliminates the issue of having your speakers in the background, but depening on your system, it's not to hard to turn your speakers down and put a headset in....assuming you have a newer desktop that has both front and back outlets.

      Thanks for your suggestions.

I'm terrible with "technical talk", so I have no idea what the best attributes are for a good headset. I would prefer a headset rather than the mic and the speakers.

I have a laptop, the outlets are at the side. I was told USB would be better than the double plug thingy (there's the "don't know what I'm talking about" sentence).

      Thanks

      Jamie

    Hi Jamie,

I have a logitech clearchat comfort USB headset. Selling for £22.99 on Amazon.co.uk or £29.99 at PC world. I love the sound quality from this headset as well as the microphone is quite good as well. The headset is also comfortable to wear.

I have always been a fan of Logitech and continue to use their headsets. I stepped on one of them, sat on the other, and yet still I keep on buying them. The great sound quality keeps bringing me straight back to them.

I am a Logitech user ever since. I never had a problem with it. I guess it depends on the user or maybe the product itself is defective.

I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm also a Logitech fan. I also have a Logitech clearchat, and I have a wireless Logitech for gaming (I'm an Xbox addict). I've never had a problem with either of them, and I get pretty rough with my electronics.

    Hi Jamie
Great post, lots of good advise, I can also confirm the logitech is also great.
@ankur sharma any one of the headset here are good.

Just make sure you get somehing that works outside your sound card and records directly into whatever app you work with.

    Good luck

Hope we hear a product soon.
