I Need To Know How To Accept Money Online

Hello all.

I am new here and have some questions I hope I can get some help with.

I am going to be using GoToWebinar to host a real estate related webinar and want to know how I can set it up so:

1. I can accept money for the webinar I will be putting on. The attendees will be paying me to view the webinar.

2. Send out the confirmation number related to the login information for the attendees who have paid and now need to know the number that will grant them access to the webinar

3. Set it up with an auto responder so once they have paid, they automatically receive a confirmation email with the required information so they can access the webinar

Thanks

Quinn

    Hi Quin,

You can go with PayPal. I've had many issues with them but unless you're willing to spend a bit to get started and some monthly fees, PayPal is the way to go.

I remember when I started out online long ago and had no idea how PayPal worked and it sort of made me feel anxious just thinking about how I'm going to set it up!

My advice is just to setup an account. It's actually very simple and will make a lot more sense when you start using it. I think you will need a few days before you can go live. PayPal will put some money in your bank account that you must confirm and tell them how much was entered as a security measure. I'm not sure but I think it might have been 3 days.

    Good luck.

How do I set it up so I don't exceed a certain limit for orders?

      For example:

If I can only have 100 people at the event - how do I prevent an overbooking and have, say - 105 people sign up and pay their admission?

Also, do you know if PayPal has autoresponders that will send the registration information to the customers who pay so they can sign in to the event?

you will have to create, buy or acquire a script that does that PRIOR to paypal taking the order (they just process the money)

        paypal does not have autoresponders

a company called 1shoppingcart can do it all (including autoresponders). It is what I have used for years.

PM me if you would liike to use my affiliate link, otherwise go direct to their .com.

The only issue you are going to run into is providing a unique pin number, as that is something that has to integrate with your conference host to be truly automatic.

Paypal is good but I had many problems with them as well. I used to take payments for ebay goods. Once they screwed me six months holding my money.
          Then I shifted to moneybookers

I would echo the comments made here, in that paypal is the way to go, to start with, however can be expensive and they sometimes place limits amount that can be put through until verified.

Hopefully if successful, you may want to look a a merchant account of some sort, down the line.

I can set it up for you in my office system
We can set it to accept only 100 (or what ever you want) orders. It will go through PayPal into your account.
Your customers will be sent an automatic email once they have paid that has the webinar information &/or we can send them to a page that talks about it.
All your customers will be in one place and if you want to send them a followup email or message after the webinar, you can.

PM or email me if you are interested

Paypal works great for me, and they have some tutorials on their site that explains how you can setup your account.

    Good luck!

PayPal is a great way to do that.
Google "AWeber PayPal Integration" and you'll find a step by step tutorial on how to do it.

    Good luck with your webinar!

Would agree for sure that PayPal is your best option in this particular case. Setting up an account is really easy and it will start to make sense when you start using it, and you can also use the buttons they have so you can use them on your site like the buy now button. A very reliable service!

With PayPal if you put in a product code you can use that to track the number of sales and when you reach that limit it will stop others from being able to purchase.

Next, Create a sales page and include the PayPal button you just created. In the PayPal button creation steps you will be asked to provide a URL to redirect visitors to who successfully complete the payment and a URL for those who cancel the transaction before it goes through.

For the canceled transactions you just redirect them back to your sales page and for the other link after they successfully complete the payment process you can send them to a page on your site in a folder with a name on it that's hard to guess.

Once there they will register for the Webinar and Go2Webinar will automatically send them the call information. They will automatically send a followup reminder the day before and an hour before the call to everyone as well. (I like that feature)

That's the simplest way... It's not exactly secure but if you're doing it one-time then it's a solution. If you are planning on doing this over and over again then I would look into getting a different setup like 1shoppingcart or something similar.

With the shopping cart in my signature you can email a link for the customer to pay or have it anywhere on your existing website.

You can use our inventory control feature so that we limit it to 100 seats.

The customer would be taken through the checkout process of the cart and then at the end of the transaction the info is sent to PayPal or whoever you use for your payment processing.

Then you can use the aweber email parser plug in for our cart and have the customer automatically subscribed to your list which will start them on the auto responder series in aweber.
