Would there be a downside to using Sub-Domains with WordPress when selling Amazon Products?

Sub Domains can rank very well and you can use sub domains, I have seen a lot of people use them so they can use a trademarked company name in the sub domain instead of registering a domain with the trademark in which is not advisable.

I don't do that nor do I advise anyone to use a trademark other than in the copy of their reviews and tags titles etc but I have seem plenty in the search results proving that they do rank well.

If I can get and EMD then I will do that first, but a sub domain is an option and I don't know of any negatives but again I rarely use them.

    Kickin it on Amazon

a sub-domain is, at least in the eyes of Google, another website entirely. so any authority that domain.com acquires will not be passed to sub.domain.com.

For this reason I would recommend against sub-domains unless you absolutely have to
