Can I ask you how much time are you working to "succeed"?

Are you saying that you have been working 12 hours per day for 6 years on IM?
If so, I'd look closely at whatever IM model you're working on. Or have you been jumping from one thing to the next?

Have you ever considered that, after having been failing constantly at this game for 6 years, perhaps this is simply not your game at all? perhaps the smartest decision would be to search for another game altogether?

I dunno about you man, but if I sucked at tennis for 6 years straight, I kinda would figure out that perhaps I should give soccer a try instead...

I think I am lacking focus in my efforts

I'd suggest taking a look at the mind warriors section. They deal with motivation all the time.
Also how are you working? You can work smart or you can work hard. When you work smart you do the things that will make you money first and let the other things go.

I was going to post something inspirational like a quote but I think some of the advice you've already received is best. Take inventory of your life and your goals man. Have you chosen one thing, one aspect of IM to focus on and stuck with that? Most, (myself included) tend to stick with one thing and move to something else once it gets hard.

That's more time than i spent in IM for a whole week.
One of the thing that makes me worried is that i may be putting in my effort and end up doing the wrong thing.

Why don't you find a mentor to guide you? Surely there are some that are kind enough. They can also act as motivation as someone is watching your progress.

Internet marketing is quite complicated, even though all gurus claim that it is ‘easy’ to make money online.

You should study this matter by reading many posts in this forum and also reading blog posts and free ebooks, everything you can find.

From my experience, everything basically depends on:

* Finding the right niche

* Finding buyers interested on your products

* Learning how to successfully market your products

* Getting enough traffic and

* Converting your traffic into customers.

All these steps are very difficult.

I started working online in order to promote my products (only) and my field is mental health because this is what I know. It’s a very difficult field, especially on the internet. I have too many strong competitors. In the beginning I made many mistakes and I spent a fortune because I didn’t know the basics about internet marketing.

So, don’t think that you are the only one who is having trouble.

I studied internet marketing (only after creating my websites – I did everything backwords…) and then I finally learned many important truths.

Everyone online cares about IM, but the same doesn't happen with other niches. So, I suggest you find something related to internet marketing: getting traffic is something that everyone cares about. So, I suggest you concentrate your attention on discovering free traffic generating methods and on finding traffic tools to promote to your audience.

Well, this is only an idea. I only advise you to begin doing something related to internet marketing because even though there is a fierce competition in this field, it is very demanded online.

In my field everything depends on trust. I had to write numerous articles, free ebooks, etc, until I could finally see that the public trusts my work. Now I even have regular customers, but in the beginning everything was more than Very Hard…

My guess is after 6 years of trying is that you have information overload! I'm confident you haven't stuck with one method and one method only as you would of mastered it along time ago! My advice is clear your emails and unsubscribe, clear your hard drive, take a week or two away from your computer and chill.
Start again as a newbie, choose a popular method that is working for others and tunnel all your efforts in that one area! Don't go for anything that's suggests get rich quick! I don't think it is anything related to Information Overload. It is all about clarity toward your goals. I think he don't even know what he want from his life, he just need some focus and one proven plan.

Hope you're having a better day today. You're dealing with three different issues here:

1. Your lack of success in IM
2. Your issues with your parents (I can't address that)
3. Your belief that God is not answering your prayers (I can't address that)

As some posters have stated, you need to review your strategies with someone that has "been there and done that". See if you can get an experienced mentor to review your strategies. IM is hard, but with the right strategies, tools, and support in place, you can succeed. Next question is how do you measure success.....keep your head up. At least you are able to wake up and say "you've got an issue to deal with" and an issue that can be fixed....some people didn't wake up at all today.

Please stop mentoring this guy. He is nothing more than an internet addict. NOTHING MORE. I know it coz' I HAVE BEEN THERE. I've wasted precious 4 years of my life believing I was into Internet Marketing, while all I was doing was reading sales pages and dreaming of big cars and ****. I too had information overload.

See, this guy says he got problem. The biggest problem is he, himself. He does not consider himself responsible and therefore does not take action.
Ask him to show all his websites, lists, articles, videos or whatever he's done till date (or whatever he has track of). I'm sure there won't be more than 10 items.

There's a whole race of us good-for-nothings-internet-addicts-internet-marketers out there. Although somehow I was able to leave that race a long time back. My first check was eanred from a CPA site I made and promoted for a month straight, no bull****. (You should've seen me work then). It was $2017.51. That was the most amazing thing that happened to me.
BTW, for fellow Americans, this amount translates to INR 90,800 which was my father's 2 months income (I was 19 ATM). Father proud=parents happy=dad gives $1000 more to invest=time for college=dad:leave this ****=final-year:IM still on (stealth)=BAD marks=no job=BUT STILL MAKING KICKASS MONEY.

How can you have only made $100 in six years, how is that even possible? I mean even if you had one website that made $1 a day for 6 years that's still $2,190.

I mean 12 a day seriously? I don't know what the minimum wage is in India but a 40 hour work week at around £5 an hour, 6 years of that amounts to £57,600 in lost earning potential before tax in the UK.

I think you need to get a job, a 'real' job that pays real money for the time and effort you put in. Then you do this in your spare time if it still appeals to you.

I noticed you spent 40 fockin' dollars on a war room subscription (or whateva' that costs). And you ain't made ****. Man, to confess in public, I never even bought any $5 WSO before I started making regular income.

JUST GET OFF THIS AND ALL OTHER FORUMS. Implement your plans first. Come back after 30 days and share the results. Don't come back till you've finished with atleast one plan of action.

Take any Warrior's WSO, take his plan, have complete faith and implement it. Don't even fockin' log in to WF till you have received your first check.

I'm very sorry for your situation because I can relate to it, fighting hard to achieve success in life and seeming like it will never happen.

You didn't provide much information so people can really help you. But even at that if you follow some of the tips already offered here and mine I'm sure you'll start to see some progress.

Don't think God doesn't hear your prayers, he does, you're just not doing it right yet, and if you're not doing it right he'll have nothing to bless.

One of the reasons many people are not finding success online is the many mis-information available online. Like for me, I came online initially to create an extra income to supplement my salary, and hopefully resign from the job I was doing then and work for myself full time. A friend online told me to go start a blog and I did, but you can't imagine the frustrating after spending so much time writing articles and not getting traffic. Then I realize I must first time take out time to learn the trade properly. And from then till now, I've learnt a lot and I keep learning, and try to focus on one thing at a time. And I'm seeing great improvement.

My point is, making money online takes sometime and patience. But if you've actually been doing it for 6 years you should have had some success by now. But don't be discouraged, and don't think you've wasted all those time because you haven't. Some of the great sites and products online have been influenced by the failures and mistakes of others. Since you're not making money yet, I suggest you stop spending money. Spending too much money when you're putting in so much time and not making anything just increases the frustration. You can make good money online without spending a dime. There are great webmasters providing really helpful info for free that when followed can give you success.

I think you should challenge yourself if you really want to record success soon. You can even post the challenge on warrior forum and let people follow your steps and results and even give advice. I know this will work. Some months ago after seeing the success of Pat Flynn of smartpassiveincome.com with niche sites, I started a niche site. And I choose a niche in mental health, which is very competitive but because it was a challenge to rank the site on top 10 within 2 months, I was able to get the site far up in the ranking, though I didn't achieve top 10 within 2 months because of the big competitors on the first page, but I did well. Now the site is in top 15 (second page) in Google and this I achieved within 4 months for a competitive niche even without being so focused on it (I mean, I maintained another site during the challenge). And in another one month, I hope to sell it for 4 figures. That's not bad in few months.

You can even start looking into niche sites, when I have some time, I intend to do more niche sites and then sell them for good money. If you do it well it will sell. Pat who started the challenge in under a year of building his niche site, he started making $1,200 from the site and he has been offered $10,000 and $15,000 for the site on different occasion which he decined. The good thing is, since it was a challenge he documented all what he did to take the site to that level on his site for all to read for free, including how he monetizes the site. So you see, you don't have to really spend money to learn effective ways to make money online.

So find an area of making money online that works, but that takes lesser time to make money and focus on it. You'll definitely make money.

Sorry to hear your struggles with IM...But I am proud that you are going to choose to stick with it...Most people after spending that much time and effort would've quit by now...If you are determined enough to succeed then you will...You just haven't found the right path to take...Best of Luck!

This is obviously a bloody joke my friend. Nobody can put that much time into IM and not make money. So this is how it is, (1) you are a liar (which i think is true) or (2) you are a liar (guess i was right)

All I can say is...get yourself a Clickbank account, start a blog...write articles/reviews about the product...add your affiliate link to the article...publish regularly...comment on other blogs in that niche that link out using "CommentLuv" to rank for long-tail keywords.

...that's it man! That's all you have to do. One hour per day. Use the other eleven to work a real job to put food on the table.

Stop whatever you are doing and take a breath for a day. Take a look at my mentor:
Then take free for a day or two. Go for a walk or help other people on the street or on a field if you live in rural part of country. All this time you should think about what Jim Rohn said.

Focus is the key. So go for it, this is the skill you have to master to. Then, find another area you are lacking. Then fix this one and so on.

One of my problem was procrastination. When I discoverd what is my problem I focused on it and stop doing it.

AlienSense nailed it on the head. It's pure IM addiction. Buying products and learning just for the sake of learning is an addiction. You feel like you're gaining ground but at the end of the day, if you write down all the things that you've done, you really have done nothing but absorb information. The only way to really make money in IM is to PRODUCE content and get it out on the internet.

I'm sure most of us can relate to IM addiction. When you break free from it and realize that you have an addiction then you start seeing results. To the op, make a small income goal for yourself and stick to it. When you start seeing results you will feel motivated to work harder and stay focused.

It's not your lack of knowledge. Get away from the computer and pick up a pen and paper. Write down a plan and stick to it. List your skills and assets and then go from there.

Whatever you're doing as far as internet marketing goes, make sure it makes you happy. If it's not making you happy then move onto the next one, however, don't make it a pattern to keep moving on whenever you don't like something.

Marketing isn't necessarily about what you like, it's what the consumer likes. All you have to do is point the consumer int he right direction and get paid for it you know?

But working 12 hours per day for 6 straight years?! What exactly are you working on? What are your techniques? Strategies?

Maybe it's time to change your approach. You can't keep doing the same thing over and over again and except a different result, that's insanity.

I'd say cut back to half of what you do. 6 hours per day.

Because I can work for 12 hours per day, but if I'm not productive then I'm really just wasting time.

OK - a different suggestion. I had a "dry spell" in sports. The very best coach I ever had gave me the best direction.

STOP everything. Take a break - no you can't even come to visit the practice area. Go away.

Came back after my banishment - it felt like it too. I was gone a whole week - seemed almost like a life time.

Practice was much better - started to see my time drop in large chunks. We won a championship and I also had an individual championship.

Today what was done is very minor - small town etc. But HOW is the key for my recommendation.

Take a break. Put everything on a separate drive.

Start fresh. Do not let all the offers and hype catch you again.

Put your wallet away - pick ONE approach and do not quit until you follow through to success.

You have learned a lot in 6 years. Thomas Edison invented the light bulb and became extremely wealthy. When asked about his failures he admitted he FIRST found 9,999 ways NOT to make a light bulb. He Succeeded when he found on try number 10,000 how to make the light bulb.

The goal here is to make one dollar on line. I know that you have already done this but with this methodical approach you would actually have a site and a real asset by the time you finished.

Good friends are hard to come by man, your not the only person that feels that way.

You have to be strict on yourself if you want to see good results. Have a goal for each day and make it happen and than move on to the next. Hope that helps.
