Some strange characters showing up after my url

Everytime, I click on a link on my webpage, some strange characters show up on my browsers bar, like #.TpPxS3LaRJE, for example, if i click on http://www.xyz.com/about I see http://www.xyz.com/about/#.TpPxS3LaRJE on my browser bar, what is the reason for that, what is this #.TpPxS3LaRJE

I am not very technical, so trying to figure out what exactly this is.
