Best Way to Grow a Website's Traffic

I don't know if you'd label this a "secret" or just a useful application of known information.

Guest posting is the new article marketing. It's where you write a post that gets featured on someone else's website. This gives you credibility from the author's endorsement and gives you free access to their audience.

However, most people look to land guest posts on the top performers' sites. This is a mistake. I've had dozens of posts on major sites with little traffic compared to on websites where my ideas were revolutionary and virtually unknown.

If you guest post for a site that knows very little about your niche but could be potentially interested in what you have to say... That's like striking gold.

Look for sites that are indirectly related to yours and guest post there. You'll see more traffic and better results.

I think it will be better to become a guest blogger to a very well known sites to generate traffic to your site. But I think, this will still depend on the concept of the website.

I've written 8 posts to date for Problogger.net, yet I get more hits than all of those posts with a single article for another site that isn't even 1/10 of the audience.

How do I do it? I just read the site and the comments, then fill a need for that particular audience.

        Interesting Chris

Do you find you get a good amount of links in return? As in sites that allow you to have a link in the bio?

I have a site that makes $900 a month but never really done any link building so looking for the best way

I'm not convinced on the EDU, Profile link strategies as Stompernet back in 2007 used to talk about content for links which i think is what you are...

This strategy works best when you already have a professional sales funnel.

You will get plenty of viral links if your post is interesting or controversial.

          One post I I'd for growmap.com had 350 retweets!

I like this idea and it should work out pretty well. If nothing else you always get a good backlink from a guest post.

I do agree that guest blogging is a great way to go. It's how I often find out about new bloggers I like to read and learn from. How about sharing some of the methods you have used to successfully get your posts posted on other peoples blogs?

Does anyone not know this? Best traffic source after organic search or sometimes even better. Cross promoting it on niches that are close to your or have the audience that is the same as yours is great. If you sell to women in health niche go guestpost in women's lifestyle blogs to get visitors (some of them might be newbies to it and are best visitors as you become their first source of info about the topic!)..

Believe it or not, most people would believe that this wouldn't work. They instead waste their time working super hard to get the best bloggers in their own niche to approve their work. It's far easier and more productive to go after related niches.

Took me some time to figure it out too tho

It's not too easy, all popular sites are busy and have tons of wannabe writers.

Guest posting obviously seems like the way to go, I never even thought of doing that because I am so caught up in SEO.

How do I go about doing a guest post for someone in my niche? Just contact other website owners or?

Great post Chris. I often guest post and it's probably the easiest way to generate quality traffic. There are thousands of blogs out there that receive traffic each day just looking for people to add content.

There are a lot of blogs out there that aren't even close to being major players but they still receive lots of daily traffic.

Great tips here. I love Guest posting for traffic generation and setting yourself up as an expert in your field.

I would suggest though that you choose blogs that are active and have authority.

Better to write article on SEO presser (Or cheap version myseopresser) and submit your article on Ezine article and other article directories and put your website (URL) to
your sales page or if you have squeeze page.

    I hope that helps

I agree. There are sites out there that will let you submit multiple posts. However, you need to be very creative and have an array of writing skills.

    Chris,

Great post and so true. Something that's worked very well for me on this is to get posts on blogs that aren't the top tier...yet. Target high quality blogs within your niche that are up and coming. Not only is it easier to get posts on them on many occasions, but they tend to have loyal audiences that are likely to go see what you're all about.

One tip for guest posters. Always make your guest posts your very best work. This is no time to show the world and a new audience anything but the very best you have to offer. After all, you're getting exposure to a brand new audience, you need to make a great first impression.

I agree with you and I think you have shared a good idea here.I also think that we should not only focusing on niche related blogs to make a guest post.
