What is the best and most accurate keyword research tool?

I keep seeing a whole bunch of different keyword research tools being mentioned here and they all seem to have their own unique features.

What is the best and most accurate keyword research tool? It doesn't matter whether it's free or not.

Free - Google Adwords Keyword Tool
Paid - Market Samurai & Micro Niche Finder

None are completely accurate but they give a good overall picture of how popular a keyword is.

I could do fine with just the Google tool - the paid ones are good time savers though when it comes to checking out competition etc.

    The Best: Market Samurai...

The Most Accurate: Any and All keyword research tools will be gathering their data from a database such as Google or Yahoo. Therefore, most are pretty reliable... however, don't expect the numbers to be EXACT. There are always changes and factors which are out of our control - Market Samurai takes it's data from Google and so it's pretty reliable. I use it everyday.

I've used a few keyword tools and there are only two I'd recommend.

    1. Market Samurai
    2. Brad Callen's Niche Finder

It's more about what you are comfortable using than which tool is best - keyword tools are all about time saving - you can get all the info you need from Google's free keyword tool.

Start off with Google's Keyword tool and then I use Market Samurai to drill down.

I just started the free trail of market samurai. I'm considering dropping the $100 for it, it seems very useful for keyword research.

The boulder that's blocking me for now, however, is finding keywords to research in the first place.

Market Samurai is great, but Google is free. If you learn how to use the Google keyword tool effectively. Using advanced options to filter different competitive terms works really well if you have a broad topic, and can really give you an idea of the traffic if you limit to Exact Match.

Your Brain.....often times we forget that if we just spend time brainstorming we can find a huge list of keywords we would use to find whatever it is you are promoting. We can also find keywords the tools just don't see.

No tool is perfect and they are all guestimations, but you can come up with some great keywords just by using your own brain.

Good perspective, but I would also like to be able to analyze competition for those keywords as well.

I Like Market Samurai. ALthough I hear lots and lots of good things about MNF Still haven't tried it. Market samurai is soo much more than just keyword research. It allows you to see the competition for you keyword where they are getting links from stuff that on its own would take a lot of time.

My vote goes to SECockpit for sure.

They explain it better than I can.

One more thing, keep in mind that your method of keyword research is sometimes just as important if not far more so than your tool.

For example, if I want to build a website monetized mainly with Adsense, I take a good look at the average CPC for each potential keyword.

If I'm looking to monetize with Amazon products, I'm more interested in whether or not a keyword is a buyer keyword. I wouldn't necessarily care quite as much about the CPC in that case.

Thanks for the information. I had used a trial of SECockpit. Are you using it? and how accurate do you feel the competition data is?
